NOF users might find this forum (potentially) useful - it's in its infancy but could develop into a good resource.

Do you like this better than the news.netobjects.com newsgroups?

One of the nice things about the official NOF newsgroups is that while the NetObjects staff aren't as involved as they once were, they still tend to pop in and monitor the discussion a bit, so you know that problems, suggestions, and feedback are at least in their field of view for possible inclusion in future versions or bug fixes...

I guess I'm waiting to join the new forums to see if NetObjects is onboard.

On the other hand, I am happy to see new interest in NetObjects ... it's a nice program and deserves to be seen, supported, and developed.

Hi Jeff -

No, I don't see the forum replacing the news groups, but if it develops it could be a useful adjunct. There's already one member of Team NetObjects on board.

I'm afraid that maybe the alternate NOF support board is a better idea than I thought:

Oh dear! For any NOF user who hadn't picked it up from the newsgroups, there's a move afoot to show support for NETO at http://www.darkstardesigns.com/savenof/ Lots of discussion, too. :(

I wonder if a program like http://www.sitedesigner.com/ will be able to open or import Fusion MX sites?

Hopefully someone will buy Fusion because it is a great product and offers some substantial advantages over programs like Dreamweaver, GoLive, and FrontPage in terms of ease of use and efficiency while still maintaining the ability to do a pretty good design. I think the gap has shrunk a bit as the other programs have been developed more than Fusion lately (since version 4) and there are some flaws with Fusion (no direct access to html, no relative layout, etc.) But I really hope that another company will take over where NetObjects left off. I think there is room to improve, and in general, no html editor / web design program is close to perfect, yet.

A big concern for all NOF users who have sites created and maintained in NOF's proprietary format.

Let's hope that at least the NOF aspect of the company is taken over by someone willing/able to continue its development.

In the meantime, we can continue, at least for a while, with our existing NOF, although will its third-party support also melt away? CoolMaps, at least, seems set to continue.

Hey, ho! Maybe that forum will come into its own now!
