View Full Version : My Intro #2
LiquidTV
07-17-2001, 11:35 AM
I changed my old intro. Thanks to everyone at Futurequest, for their opinions and ideas. I would like some feedback, please. What do you think of it and so on.
Everything in the intro is original and copyrighted, including music.
The site should be online hopefully by NewYear.
P.S. If you've seen the older version, try to refresh your browser. The newer version has a blue moving background.

WOW
Pretty sharp IMHO. I liked it very much, however it is a pretty large file and I would hate to be attempting it at 56k.
But I had to view it in IE as Netscape 4.77 doesn't like it at all and you end up at a 404 page not found. It appears netscape is looking for
/LiquidTV/openWindow.js and can't find it.
It would appear to be a problem with how Netscape interprets this line
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" SRC="/LiquidTV/openWindow.js"></SCRIPT>
But still this is a well put together Flash presentation and I really did like it :)
Have a Good One,
Bob
- That $%&&!@*$#@$%^ Netscape :P -
What Bob said.
It works OK in Nestcape 6 on Linux, though.
And yes, "Wow".

LOVE the motion effect! The music is cool and I like how the end logo animates.
it is a pretty large file and I would hate to be attempting it at 56k.
Hehe, guess what connection I'm using ~#
It is kinda long but then again, the intro is really cool.
Good Job!
Tony.
- If I can only get Flash 5 (not the player) to install on my OS, but then again, you haven't seen my previous work, have you? `|
I'm using a 56K modem out here in Seattle, and I couldn't take the download.
It could be because I've been so spoiled on DSL for so long, but a rather large download. I hope your audience is broadband users. ;)

Beautiful work! I really like the beginning with the superimposed eye, especially when the one side transitions to a slightly darker blue. The blues are great, and the gray page frame is both very nice and original. The red/yellow seems a little abrupt. The text works great though, and the motion is quite beautiful. 8}
Opera reports it the intro size as 1.4 MB (megabytes) so it does take a while to download (~

Nice loading meter, though too bad you have to stare at it for so long. The choice of colors, layout and font, and overall velocity are all very impressive. General humble advice:
1) It is too heavy.
2) Maybe varying the speed of the background would make it more of a "journey" rather than just a "fall".
3) It is too long for just being a sequence of text messages. By varying the amount of words on one page you can add contrast to the emphasis on what is being said.
4) The effect where the text pulsates with transparent copies is totally cliche. It is a bit too old.
5) The Blue is nice, but is too fast and repetitive. Given the length of the "intro", by the end I was dizzy. Especially since there is so much to read.
6) The blue and red flashing is dizzying. Also reminds me of the wonderful blink tag in netscape. You might want to aim for something more original and less irritating.
