Banner Grouping and Zoning

What is grouping and zoning for ad rotation? I hear everyone talk about it, but I have no idea what it is.

Grouping: (usually means) A collection of ads (usually from the same advertiser) from which that advertiser's next displayed ad will be pulled.

Zone: Defining the pages (or portion of a page) where a particular banner may (or may not) appear. Usually used to make sure proper size banners appear in the proper alloted spaces.
