Directory password, FTP push

Hi, I subscribed to a newswire service for my site.
What they require from me is :

A directory where i can give them 1 or 2 passwords for access.

How can I do this??
This is for an FTP push.

and you can order 'em online; I think they're $5/mo, and can be set up for a specific subdirectory, or the whole site (a baaad idea!). $5/mo may seem a bit steep but if it enables the functionality you need, it's a bargain!
