View Full Version : Deleting cookies in Explorer
I know how to delete cookies in Explorer on the Mac, but how do you do it on Windows? Any clues anyone?
Thanks in advance.
Joe.
P.S. Wow! The search function is fast on this thing! Shame no one asked this question before. :P

On Windows 98; in folder \Windows\Cookies you'll find all your cookies
On Windows 2000; in folder \Documents and Settings\[user]\Cookies
Just delete all the .txt files, except the ones you'd like to keep of course, like the one for this board. :)

You're a hero Arthur. :)
Doncha love the Net. There you are in Holland, providing information to me in Japan and I'm going to be relaying it to Australia. :)
Thanks again.
Joe.
I find that in Win95/98/Me and also 2000, the cookie get stored in two places... There's the \Cookies\ folder, but I'll bet a 6-pack that you'll find duplicate cookies in your \Temporary Internet Files\ folder too.
Why IE does that I've never understood.
I'm kinda anal about cookies and other things, so I've been using a program called Empty Temp on every bootup to delete all the cookies, temporary internet files, and the contents of some other temp folders (such as \Windows\Temp\). It's freeware if you're interested:

I've used this tool sometimes. Simple and does what it has to do:
