Would anyone be able to tell me why the sender of messages that are forwarded to my AOL account via an alias stack on the FQ server is always "unknownsender@unknown.domain" instead of <something>@<mydomain>?[nbsp][nbsp]
The alias name is formmail@philacfe.com, so I would think that the sender should appear as that, or maybe webmaster@philacfe.com.[nbsp][nbsp]Thanks for any insight you can provide.

It would help a great deal if we were able to see the full headers of these 'unknown' messages....
When you receive the next one, feel free to post the full headers either here or to us via the Service Desk at Service@FutureQuest.net[nbsp][nbsp]I cannot think of anything offhand but with the viewing of the headers it may help.
Is this something that happens each and every time w/o fail or is it random in nature?

Thanks.[nbsp][nbsp]The full headers are posted below.[nbsp][nbsp]You know, when I first set up this form and people began using it, the sender appeared as "webmaster@philacfe.com."[nbsp][nbsp]So, I guess I'm just not sure what has changed.[nbsp][nbsp]
I'd also like to clarify that the sender only appears as "unknownsender@unknowndomain" in my AOL account, after it is forwarded from the alias address "formmail@philacfe.com."[nbsp][nbsp]The alias also forwards to mail@philacfe.com, and the sender in that case appears as "Form Mail" (without any associated e-mail address).[nbsp][nbsp]So what appears below is the AOL email header information, and then the header info for the exact same message, but from the one that was received by mail@philacfe.com.[nbsp][nbsp]Thanks.

Daphne,
It appears that the From: field is set to "Form Mail" (possibly in parens); and that when received by AOL, it wants some kind of email@address content in that field, and accordingly places it there.
You could possibly add another good email address to your form processing.

Thanks Maynard.[nbsp][nbsp]I tried that but it didn't work.[nbsp][nbsp]Although the "From" address had changed when I picked up the e-mail in Outlook Express (the alias "formmail@philacfe.com" also forwards to another philacfe.com email address), it was still "unknownsender@unknown.domain" when I picked it up in AOL.[nbsp][nbsp]I tried to research the problem on the net and discovered some postings indicating that it might be AOL's email system.[nbsp][nbsp]Somehow, it recognizes that the message originated through a form mail web page.[nbsp][nbsp]When I send a message directly to formmail@philacfe.com from my personal email account, the "From" address is fine.
