Is it possible to customize the confirmation message that EzMLM sends when someone joins a mailing list? The instructions on FQ are generally so eloquent and lucid that it was a little surprising to be confronted with the confirmation message.[nbsp][nbsp]Not that it's bad, it's just not up to the sterling FQ standards.

If it can't be individually customized, here are some suggestions:

1. I don't think it is appropriate to use God@heaven.af.mil as a sample address.[nbsp][nbsp]Although I am not a religious person, I can see that someone else might find this offensive.[nbsp][nbsp]I'm not opposed to offending people, but it's usually not necessary to gratuitously offend potential customers.[nbsp][nbsp]A sample of angel@heaven.af.mil would make the point just as effectively.

2. Is it necessary to list the ezmlm command addresses for an announcement list?[nbsp][nbsp]The instruction most subscriber's are interested in is how to unsubscribe.[nbsp][nbsp]In my experience, most list announcements include this vital instruction at the end of each announcement.

3. Instead of saying: "Your mailer should have a Reply feature that uses this address automatically", we could say "If your e-mail program has a Reply feature, it should fill in this address for you automatically."

4. Not everyone understands what an 'empty reply' is.[nbsp][nbsp]Couldn't we just say: "Please delete the body of this message, when you send your reply."?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Mike

I think you'll find the solutions you are looking for within the Mailing List Tutorial at http://www.aota.net/Mailing_Lists/modifylist.php3

Yes, that looks just like what I want.[nbsp][nbsp]Sorry for the trouble.[nbsp][nbsp]I never read the advanced portion of the tutorial because I assumed it was the hard way of doing what could be accomplished through the CNC (i.e two ways of doing the same thing: one easy, one hard).

Thanks. Mike
