Hello (again),

I have designed a opening sequence (splash page) which runs about 30 seconds and then is directed to go to the home page automaticly.
My question is what would I name this page to be hit first, and what would I name the home page it connects to when it's fineshed?
Right now I have the index.html page in the www directory, along with all images. The splash page has not been uploaded yet.
Thanks,
Gary

gary, do a search on "referrer" and you'll find the code to be in your index page with the 30 second timeout and the page to refer to.

Hope that helps...

Gary,

If you would like your main page when some one goes to your domain to have the splash and the redirection page you should call it .index.html and then that will make your splash page come up when some one goes to your domain. You can then name your page you want that directed to whatever you so desire. Usually people call it main.html.

From what it sounds like you already have the code to redirect a page. If not head to: ( http://www.aota.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000378-1.html ) for an example.

If you need further assistance let me know.

Thanks Brian,

I did just that, and it works very well, at least on my system.

One little typo on the intro, if it's not too much trouble to change:[nbsp][nbsp]"your companys success" should be "your company's success"

Better that I point it out than a client.[nbsp][nbsp]:)

Thanks Dan,
I tried company's and it keeps returning an error:
Expected ')'
Also the page is not working in Netscape3.01:Line 125 maxX not defined... I dont seem to get it, any ideas?

Hmm...

That's odd - it didn't run for me, and at the bottom of my browser window it said "Error on page."

Is this supposed to be done with Flash? I have no problem with Flash elsewhere (the FQ Flash intro looks fine).

I dunno - but I couldn't see it. I'm running IE5.

Thanks,

Jason

I was wondering if maybe the apostrophe was a problem.[nbsp][nbsp]How about, "your company a success"?[nbsp][nbsp]I think that fits grammatically with the rest of the section.

In Netscape 3, I get "line 431: layout is not defined" plus an interesting javascript error at line 147...[nbsp][nbsp]That very same apostrophe![nbsp][nbsp]Hmm, check that; now I'm getting a javascript error in Netscape 4.6 and nothing happens, so you must have changed something.

Dan,

Changed the wording and it now works in IE again.
Not so in Netscape.
Could it be the version 3.01?

Gary,

It works fine for me now. Looks very good. I may be in touch for some programming :-)
