I know there are some posts here in regards to KAGI (http://www.kakgi.com)[nbsp][nbsp]cc processing, but before I look, I would like to ask those who use this system a few questions.

1. Are ya's (that use this) happy with them?

2. if a CC was denied, how do you know this? They say that they have monthly reports, does this mean that you need to wait one month before you service your client? And how do you know that your client has submitted payment to them before that month is up?

3. Is there anything I need to be made aware of, things you have encountered with them? Are they reputable?

Forgive the questions, I know FQ ain't KAGI, but FQ uses them. Their site isn't all too organized, if they had a search to go with all them questions, i could probably find these answers much more quickly. However, feedback from those that use them would be so much appreciated. :)

I am gonna search the forum now. Thank you.

Yup, I too am very interested in starting to accept Credit Cards through Kagi but I never got around to asking anyquestions about it.

Is someone out there familiar with Kagi?

Gee, I know there are alot of people who use it... :)

It's really a matter of preference. Kagi has its good and bad features....

It's cheaper then most when it comes to their "slice of the pie" but ummm ever heard the phrase "ya get what you pay for" -- I've found Kagi to be about 50% less than most of the other Third Party Processors (at least last time I wondered around which was a while ago) -- If you are going to be working with large amounts of transactions and still want a third party to handle it then the price difference is substantial and you may want to seriously look at Kagi.[nbsp][nbsp]On the other hand if the amount of transactions is not terribly large it would probably be worth it to pay more and get the nicer features available by the others. (considering the fact that most of the costs are determined by a percentage of the sales)

If you are looking for / needing up to the second reports, speedy support, and real-time anything then Kagi is *not* the processor for you.[nbsp][nbsp]Looking at some of the other ones would be better.[nbsp][nbsp]

If fraud is something you think you'll be at risk of, then I do actually recommend Kagi -- From what I can tell they have some pretty decent anti-fraud methods in place (HUMANS!).[nbsp][nbsp]If everything isn't just right with the payment they will put it in their manual queue and no one is getting anything until they are sure it's ok (1 to 5 days) -- If everything is perfect on the order then I usually receive confirmation within the hour.[nbsp][nbsp]The 'fraud risk' is extremely high with a company such as FutureQuest -- for this reason I HIGHLY COMPLIMENT Kagi -- We've had less than a handful out of THOUSANDS sneak past us.. and even those were caught within the first 14 days.[nbsp][nbsp]With other processors I hear the fraud problem is much worse

I can say that I have received every penny I am suppose to receive from Kagi -- On Time Every Month w/o fail.

When I call Kagi -- I am not placed on hold and I receive competent support that is friendly.

When I email Kagi -- *yuk* On average, it will take over 5 days to receive a reply (sometimes faster sometimes slower)

They recently opened up a new database to allow you to look over any transactions that have occurred but it leaves a LOT to be desired.

There are no "kewl tools"

You receive a confirmation letter the same time your client does that looks exactly like what your client sees (those who have paid us using Kagi know what these look like)

Once a month you receive a flat text file listing out each transaction, how much went to kagi, the credit card comps, and you.

It's extremely simplistic in nature -- Client Pays Kagi -- Kagi Pays You.[nbsp][nbsp]Nothing more, nothing less.[nbsp][nbsp]For some, this is more than fine -- for others this would be combersome and awful to work with.

Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks Hearts for posting the question, and to Deb for the reply.

I too had been considering setting up an account with Kagi for a project I have in the works, and you answered all my questions, including some I hadn't thought to ask yet.

Just to confirm, I assume that the payment confirmation emails (to you and the client) do not go out at all until the payment is fully verified -- ie, if it's in the manual queue, there's no email till it's approved?

Thanks

Correct -- which is why there is the lack of "real-time" for them.[nbsp][nbsp]Nothing 'happens' until it "happens" ;)

Well I believe strongly in looks. And by looks http://www.kagi.com/ doesnt look all that profesional and is kinda scary.

Thats not to say that it isnt a good service, but by looks alone it urged me to pay by check.. I am sure this is the same for some other people also..

Look at it this way, would you order something with a credit card from a site that looks like a 12 year old made with Netscape and not feel at risk?

Oh well thats just my thoughts...

Hey elite, i would agree with you, but not strongly.. if they were selling me web design.. I wouldn't give them a second thought, ;)

The site's main purpose is to provide a service and I agree with Charles.. it serves its purpose.

HOWEVER.. their organization totally sux. That is what deters me from doing business with them. I had to email them six months ago on behalf of a client, and it took two weeks to get an email response. *That* concerns me.

Because of the text looking site.. it gave me the feeling that they really don't care about customer satisfaction. That all they cared about was getting business. This was a MAJOR turn off for me. That is why I posted in the forum. I felt that Deb is pretty picky and wouldn't deal with anyone that would do her wrong.. and I really wanted to know her feelings on them.

With the idea of fraud, it is no different then dealing with clients themselves that don't pay. I am going to endure with no cc acceptance. I have taken my focus away from web designing and working on something a little more rewarding.

Clients that have come my way are much worse then two year old children with no manners.. *evil grin*

Thanks for the input ya'll.

Like the company itself, the web site appears to be just for the purpose of getting the job done with no flash.[nbsp][nbsp]:)

Wow...[nbsp][nbsp]Peeked at their best sellers lately?[nbsp][nbsp]http://www.kagi.com/stats/stat1999-06.nclk[nbsp][nbsp]Scroll to sorted by quantity.[nbsp][nbsp]:)
