here's a list of providers i've been with:
aplus net/websolo[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp] www.abac.com/www.websolo.com (http://www.abac.com/www.websolo.com)
liquid web[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]www.liquidweb.com (http://www.liquidweb.com)
burlee[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]www.burlee.com (http://www.burlee.com)
highspeedweb[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]www.highspeedweb.net (http://www.highspeedweb.net)
it takes a while to realize the good things in the world.
now i realizer that futurequest is the coolest thing ever, except... i can't subscribe to it because i'm already in a 1 year contract with highspeedweb for all 3 of my sites.
highspeedweb is probably the best service i had so far... but they're still not much compared to futurequest.[nbsp][nbsp]website's down about 10 hours a month... slow at times... very slow at times... support is sometimes good, sometimes bad.[nbsp][nbsp]
burlee by far must have been the worse experience i had so far.[nbsp][nbsp]they're so mean, they stole all my money too :(
i think you should always stay clear of services that over advertise.[nbsp][nbsp]they put too much money into their advertising, and not enough into their service.
anyways, expect me to join you futurequest people in about a year.. but until then, i guess i'll just sit here admiring how **** cool you guys are.

Simple solution:[nbsp][nbsp]put your three sites on the auction block -- throw in a year of hosting "free" -- and start another one.[nbsp][nbsp]:)

I'll start the bidding off with a dollar :)
Hey, they don't call me AuctionMan for nothing :)

I myself always gamble and pay for a year in advance to get the lower rates.[nbsp][nbsp]I have left so many web hosts long before the year is over. Wasted money, but hey, moving to a good host is worth more than money.
One thing I'd say that FutureQuest does far better than any other host is their communication skills. They are honest and let you know what's going on. Their response times are outstanding too. When are other hosts going to realize that great customer support is the key to true success.
That's why I moved my 4 sites here:
www.wonderdesk.com (http://www.wonderdesk.com)
www.webhelpdesks.com (http://www.webhelpdesks.com)
www.ehelpdesks.com (http://www.ehelpdesks.com)
www.e-helpdesks.com (http://www.e-helpdesks.com)
I'd say, forget about the 1 year deposit you paid. Move over now.

Having gone through all that BS before, one thing REALLY TICKS me off the most. The host provider ALWAYS has this amazing, graphically intense site, that loads in SECONDS. Then when you sign up, they move your site to an over-crowded, highly over-worked server, that kills your site.
There should be a law somewhere, that they must keep their site on the same servers they provide. For god sake, I wouldn't be surprised to see them have Futurequest host their own site for speed. :P[nbsp]

Well the FutureQuest domain started on TAZ (only server we had at the time) and since has moved to SIX.[nbsp][nbsp]Through thick and thin it's remained on SIX so far...[nbsp][nbsp]Was the fact that our site loaded at Community Server speeds rather than dedicated server speeds the reason you chose us? :P
AOTA.net has been on TAZ from the beginning, however we are planning to move it to a Dedicated Server for various reasons as it is finally reaching the stage of requiring one of its own...[nbsp][nbsp]I'm pretty sure once TeRRa and Justin move aota.net over they'll move all of our domains over since we tend to have them talking to each other (backend scripts etc on support/order forms blah blah blah).[nbsp][nbsp]heh one would argue though that all of my domains on a dedicated server would be equal to a community server since I kind of have too too tooo many domains :P

I THOUGHT I was locked in for a year at one of my previous providers (none of the ones mentioned) since I paid for a year in advance.[nbsp][nbsp]But when I asked they just reimbursed me the difference between the time I'd been there (four months) and the balance.[nbsp][nbsp]Also I've seen some say you can get out if you'd just pay the difference between monthly and annual for the time you were there and they'll give you back the rest.[nbsp][nbsp]Depending on how bad the service is, it might be worth $10 or $20 to get out.

thanks for the advice, but i purchased a $99/year hosting plan.[nbsp][nbsp]it's actually pretty (dam) good for being only $99 a year, but there's no monthly plan equivilant to it.[nbsp][nbsp]it's kind of a special.[nbsp][nbsp]the next cheapest service is 40/month.
one more question about futurequest.. say i have a bunch of domains connected to one account, and i have the maximum amount of space filled up that i'm allowed to have, and have just under the maximum amount of bandwidth i'm allowed to have, and i'm just under the maximum amount of system resources i'm allowed to have, hehe...[nbsp][nbsp]would my websites run any slower?[nbsp][nbsp]i hear that futurequest servers are never overpacked, but... that's a lot of space/bandwidth/cpu usage..
would futurequest get mad?[nbsp][nbsp]see i'm always afraid of my webhost getting mad at me.[nbsp][nbsp]ever since burlee.[nbsp][nbsp]that's why i always disconnect from their ftp's between the times i'm uploading something... it feels like.. they get pissed at me using my ftp too much or something.
and i'm glad futurequest doesn't offer unlimited anything 'cause that's even scarier..[nbsp][nbsp]that's like saying, "we're not telling you what the maximum is... find it out by testing the limits, we'll boot you off our service, cancel your 1 year contract while keeping your money, and charge you extra for the extra unlimited stuffs you used. have a nice day :)"
i think by the summer i'll move to futurequest... highspeedweb isn't that bad though.[nbsp][nbsp]i like to refer to it as mediumspeedweb, hehe.[nbsp][nbsp]they're not that bad.[nbsp][nbsp]but they're not that good either.[nbsp][nbsp]but for $99 it's good deal.[nbsp][nbsp]you'd more likely expect a fraud for $99.
fraud... one word: nomonthlyfees.com, if it's not feasible, it isn't feased.[nbsp][nbsp]err something like that.
man.. all i can do is admire all you friendly people receiving friendly tech support on your friendly futurequest servers... and post in your forum and pretend to be one of you guys, hehe.
oh well, bye.

that's why i always disconnect from their ftp's between the times i'm uploading something... it feels like.. they get pissed at me using my ftp too much or something. Well, have no fear -- FQ's ftp times out after 10 minutes (I believe that's the number) of inactivity.[nbsp][nbsp]:)
