Email equivalent of mailmerge?

I want to update a member directory with 700 listings. Ideally, I'd like to send each member an email that shows the member's current listing with two links - one (no changes needed) to a PHP page that would insert the value "ok" into their record in the membership table along with a timestamp, and another (changes needed) to a page containing the member's listing in an editable form. I'd also like the return address to be mine rather than nobody's. Is there a way to do this without hogging an unneighborly amount of server resources?
