View Full Version : IS any one on FQ gets 20000+ pageviews/day?
You will find the usage of aota.net at http://aota.net/stats/www2000/frames.html
Aota.net uses just under 2 gigabytes of bandwidth per month to deliver these forums and the tutorials/help files etc

Aota is getting about 35000 page views per month. My site
gets that amount in a day or less!! Since ICOM doesnt have log files I have no idea what my bandwidth is. Most my visitors come for the daily updated news and discussion board. I get about 8000 reads on my message board in a day.
I have few graphics on main page and thats about it.
If my bandwidth usage goes over lets say 60 gig/month would you kick me out :( ?
So far icom hasnt complained about the bandwidth. May be that is why their server so slow!!

Since ICOM doesnt have log files I have no idea what my bandwidth is. Oh my!
I thought that was the first pre-requisite for being a _real_ hosting company... :D
As far as 60Gig/month, I would highly recommend that you start collapsing your high traffic domains to a 'Dedicated Server'...[nbsp][nbsp]These types of domains kill community servers and are best off by themselves on a dedicated CPU...
Our DS systems will offer 50Gig/month to start, and extra bandwidth will be charged for over and above that...
Surely you are obtaining the revenues to be able to support the DS costs...

I like to know more about FQ DS. How much does it cost?
I hope its not more than Icom's $8.25/month :)
thanks
FQ is the best (may be I get a discount :)

ooh goodie :) A question that I can anwser, server stuff <G>
Dedicated Servers are from $99 and up at most places.. (don't know about here, didn't know they even had DSsess) They are YOUR machien yours and only yours no other users are hosted on it. You do no tsupply the machine they host does. If you had a machien that you wanted to use somethign big like an SGI, Sun or such you could co-locate with a host. I don't know if FQ does that, I dont think they do.. If I was local to them and they offered it. I think I would co locate my SGI Challenge S with them.. No not *THINK* but I WOULD co locate with them.[nbsp][nbsp]Pay no mind to any spelling mistakes or such.. Also I would go with FQ's dedicated servers if I were you.. since the normal accounts can't handle you, The only reason I would co locate with them is a secure location and I wouldnt overload their servers with a run away script or such..(which I don't plan to happen <g>;) )(That run away script and such was a joke TeRRa take no offence.)hehe btw here is a pic of that SGI What do ya think TeRRa, Justin, Deb? http://www.ganon.net/images/server.gif

At present, FutureQuest cannot make any official posts or comments concerning DS systems... :(
What we can say is that plans are in the works with Pilot pre-production testing already in progress... ;)
The DS systems themselves are lean, mean fighting machines and are the culmination of over 8 months of hardware design work...

We get anywhere from 240,000 to 440,000 pageviews a month and there doesn't seem to be a problem..[nbsp][nbsp]but if you're going to be pulling that much bandwidth you really should look into getting a dedicated solution.

I am thinking of swtiching to FQ but I am not sure what
bandwith I will be using. On average day I get 20000-30000
page views. I am currently on Icom and it is just too slow.
Is any one here getting similar results? How many MB do you use per day?
Thanks in advance

I'm hitting the 6-7 million page views range, and yes, I have found bandwidth to be a problem. But we are talking about lots of people here.
Anyways, as mentioned above, DS servers are soon to come, so lay your problems at rest.
