User Authentication and Phorum

Hi I am new to PHP and MySQL.
I really love Phorum but I would like to require registration and user authentication for posting.

Does anyone know how i might go about doing this?

From looking at their site it does have registration, but I am not sure what type of &quot;authorization&quot; you are referring to.
