You might try:

http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/

Some seem simple, but since I don't know php (or perl, for that matter), I don't know if this is what you're looking for or not.

Hope it helps,
Ken

Here is a list of PHP sites you might check out:
http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Programming/Languages/PHP/

Personally, I learned by visiting:
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/programming/php/
http://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/PHP/Introduction/
http://www.php.net/
http://www.php.net/tut.php3
http://www.faqts.com/knowledge-base/index.phtml/fid/51/

If you've programmed in other languages, it's pretty easy to pick up.

WOWeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! This really is cool! It takes the capabilities of perl, javascript, ssi, and so much more and incorporated it into one solution that seems easier to use than anything else. Web page building just took on a whole new meaning.

Thanks! BTW, the http://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/PHP/Introduction/ is the one that I've found to be most helpful.

(whistling 'whistle while you work') :)

Ever get the feeling you've been doing things the hard way for so long?

Now I'm never going to get to sleep tonight... :(

Maybe I should've waited 'till in the morning to get started on this...

It has taken me only a fews days of working here to discover the need for me to learn PHP so that I can become the best tech support guy in the world. OK, I admit it. I also want to learn it for my own selfish reasons :)

So can y'all help me out? I learned perl by picking apart some scripts rather than from a tutorial. The problem is that I'm not having any luck in my searches for a PHP script. Does anyone have a simple PHP script that they could send me to disect? It would be most appreciated.

Hah, hah. Duff, you remind me of the night I first looked into PHP. Meaning to get back into it sometime (when I find more free time in my schedule).

I, too, found the devshed PHP Intro to be one of, if not the, best sites for starting out in PHP.

OK, don't forget to get some sleep. (It's not even 10:30 pm here in CA, yet, but it's obviously past 1 am where you are!)

Hi Duff,
I would definately recommend setting up a local server on your own PC.[nbsp][nbsp]When I started tinkering with PHP I found it invaluable to be able to test everything before uploading to my site.[nbsp][nbsp]Search these forums, Justin wrote some very good details on the install process.
