Hello,
We would like to implement an online "read only" relational database comprising three *.dbf files, the largest of which has about 42,000 records.
The ISP we use to host our sites have advised us that they fully support PhP/MySQL on their server.
their address is http://www.korax.net/info/packages.shtml
we are just putting together the "looks" of the basic query page and a sample of the output page to give a precise idea of what is wanted to discuss the scripting with a knowledgeable person.
at this point we would appreciate discussing assistance in scripting and maintenance on a paid basis
thanks for your help

Well, there are two or three people that I know of here who are familiar with PHP/MySQL. There's myself, Del, and Justin. Justin just launched a site using PHP/MySQL at http://www.hostfacts.com/, I've heard that Del is doing things with it for FQ, and I have a site that heavily uses PHP/MySQL that hasn't launched yet.
There's Deb, too. I think she handled most of the PHP3 scripting for FQ :)
I'd be interested in hearing more about the project myself, can't speak for the others, however!

Heh... I've got that ol Include string mastered! And mail forms... woohooo!!! Getting much better at that too! ;)
I'm really *NOT* a php expert.. just working to figure it all out with the rest who are in the 'getting started' stages... mySQL is something else I'm pretty new to.[nbsp][nbsp]I lean hard on Terra and Justin ... thanks for the thought though:)

Heh - thanks for the plug, Jake, but I hardly have time to work on Host Facts much less take on other projects - and honesly, I'm still learning this myself :)[nbsp][nbsp]I don't claim to be an expert at all - heck, I never thought about that lil tip you gave me earlier - that's kewl :)
There are others on the server though that are good with PHP/MySQL. You'll learn that the two are such an awesome combination that work seemlessly - there is virtually no limit to what you can do with that combo, which is why we have them both (after all, this is a developer's server :))
Good luck with your search:D

Doh! I totally forgot that www.314interactive.com (http://www.314interactive.com) was on FQ. Forgive me, wj!
Konrad- I'm still interested in looking at things, but 314interactive's site taught me a bunch of what I know. Definitely check them out!
