I ran across a two-line article about a Win command I've never heard of before. It's called a hard close...
1) As you know, you normally close an application by clicking X in the upper right corner (or by ALT F4)
2) To do a "hard close," hold down CTRL as you click X. The article says this forces Windows to "remember settings."
For example, in Windows Explorer you can force Windows to remember that you want a certain listing to always be sorted by date modified rather than alpha.
Or so it says.
Aloha,
