Does anyone happen to know what the following error represents:
This DHCP client couldn't renew an IP address lease.[nbsp][nbsp]Do you want to see future DHCP messages?
I just started receiving the error on my old Win 95 computer yesterday, and it seems to happen whenever network use is inactive for an hour or more.[nbsp][nbsp]The peculiar, and likely completely coincidental, thing is that we just got two "new" computers donated to the school today.[nbsp][nbsp]They are both Win 95 and have a very similar error message that pops up every few minutes (they aren't yet networked together):
This DHCP client was unable to obtain an IP network address from a DHCP server.[nbsp][nbsp]Do you want to see future DHCP messages?
As far as I can tell, the errors do not effect anything -- the network at home continues to function fine -- but they keep popping up like the energizer bunny...
I found some mentions of the error, but nothing that sounds applicable:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q139/8/05.asp
This sounds a bit more relevant:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q157/1/39.ASP
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q147/8/72.ASP
Thanks,
Dan
