Could anyone here give recommendations for a good 'learn to type' software for children. It has to be for Macintosh (iMac being used here). I hate to see the 6 year old and 8 year old 'hunt and peck', and know that they would enjoy writing emails more if they could learn to type and play games while at it.

Thanks in advance.

Joe.

Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing is the one I've stood by for about 5 years now.[nbsp][nbsp]I recently purchased 11.0 for the kids (Ages 10, 11, 12) they've enjoyed it and picked up the skills in less than 2 weeks..now they are just working on speed ....

A quick search at Amazon showed 9.0 available for the Mac, I didn't see 11.0 for the Mac though...

I don't know if it's available for Mac, but I like the software our current and former elem. schools are using:[nbsp][nbsp]Type To Learn . . . they also make a "skin" for the keyboard that is very thin and flexible, but opaque.[nbsp][nbsp]TTL has a neat interface and fun "video game" breaks in the typing lesson (which are cleverly disguised additional typing practices.)

Thanks for the replies Ladies. Mavis is certainly much cheaper than TTL, though I did find this one which is aimed specifically at small children and cheaper than the standard TTL.

Thanks again.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised by TTL's pricetag too . . . I am assuming the schools get a bit of an educational discount over that street price.
