Now that I use the "shtml" extension for html files, opening and saving files is a little more time consuming. Is there a way to customize the default file types in various programs so I don't have to click OPEN and then click ALL FILES? Ideally the default would be *.*htm*.
I'd like to do this for Dreamweaver, Netscape, MSIE, and Opera.

Are you refering to doing this on newly created files, or doing it on files already on your site? If you are refering to files on your site, I think there are a few scripts or even a way to do this in telnet.
Not sure if thats what you wanted to know..

No - for files on my PC. E.g., clicking "Open File" in Netscape shows all the html files in the given directory, but not files with the shtml extension. I'd like it to show all files by default.
In Dreamweaver you can set the default file saving to the shtml extension but, still, when you click "open" it only shows htm* files.
I'm sure I need to edit the Registry, which makes me extremely nervous (don't even know what to edit) so I'd need step by step instructions. I've searched the web for help without luck, so far.
