Linux "must haves"

I went for broke. Linux is now on my laptop INSTEAD of Win Does. There is a LOT to learn.

I bought the retail box of Caldera's OpenLinux 2.2 that included some commercial software and the KDE gui (for $29 AND a $10 rebate). Right now, I can't see a whole lot that would make me quit using KDE.

What are you recommendations for applications and utilities?

Sorry, this doesn't answer your question, but where did you get it?[nbsp][nbsp]Was it an online store?[nbsp][nbsp]$29 with a $10 rebate, that's a very good price.
