grrrrrr/me kicks windows!! man everytime I try to defrag man stupid guddam win98 like writes to istself or theres some guddam disk acticity and it has to start over - granted in the Windows defrag it supposedly picks right up, but we use th4e nuts and bolts defrag the program eventually quits due to excessive writing to the disk - the problemwith the win defrag is that is literally takes all day it is so duggone slow - and i used to defrag everyday when I had win95 ad it never took that long but even doing it everyday in win98 it's like the thing was never defraged - argh! and the I was using nuts and bolts without a problem til I uninstalled a demo version of uninstaller and it screwed up liek all my files including n&b and I had to reinstall it &#*$#(*^$, but snnce then I havent eben able to get a thru a defrag with it cuz stupid guddam windows keeps writing to the dosk then the program tried sveral times to pick up and eventually quits - leaving my disk even more fragmented than when it began! argh -
I dont have toolbars which were mentioned in anotehr post - so how the heck can I get windoews to stop writing to itself so much - it will behave for a long time then all a sudden it will statr writing for a good period -not just once - it like goes sometimes I hear it when the puter is on andim not doing much cept palying solitair but hte diskis writing like nurts it really annoying too - it does this on mom's puter as well &#*$^(#*^ windows argh!
wassup with that - I culd malke it stop in win 95 by closing out the program in the tray, but that doesnt work in win 98 http://www.aota.net/ubb/frown.gif phooey!
My disk is way fraged adn its slowing my whole system - soewother I figure out how to get win to quite being a pita or leave my puter defraging itself for a couple at least 6 hours with the win defrag adn then al teh subsequent defrags with be ong as well - grrrrr - totaly not worth bothering with if you ask me that stupid won defrag program bites!

Try Norton Utilities for defraging your hard drive - I've used it for years and it works better than the one that comes with windows - either version. I believe their url is http://norton.com
