Any reason why Win98 (or for that matter NT) couldn't coexist on the same physical drive as Linux? I'm thinking ahead to when I get a new computer with a 6-10gb hard drive.

From what I've heard, do your partitioning, install Win98/NT first (if it's not already installed), and then install Linux.
I've heard Windows overwrites certain areas of your hard drive that may make it impossible to use your Linux partitions if you do it the other way.
I use Macs mostly myself, but have a lot of PC friends who like Linux and have griped to me about this http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

I'm not all that experienced with Linux, but I did attempt to install it with 98. The way it was explained to me was to use Linux's version of FDISK and make your partitions, and Linux will also make the swap partition. This actually did work, but I found out that a WinModem will not work in Linux (duh?), plus I was low on disk space, so I reinstalled Windows by itself. In the future, when I have time / disk space, I plan to install Linux, or I might use this 'puter for Linux when I replace it.
It would probably be easier to use physically separate drives, though.
Hope this is of some help http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
