Well it's that time again to renew one of my domains.. Here is the situation.
A few years back when I registered this domain I used NSI.. which is a bit expensive! I would like to go through joker and pay alot less for my domain.. what can be done so that my domain doesnt slip away.. I dont want to have to dish out the chunk of cash NSI wants.. so what am I to do?!?!? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,
I have been, over the last six months, moving all of my domains over to Joker.[nbsp][nbsp]Each one has gone smooth as silk.
If you visit this page on their web site:
https://joker.com/domain/transfer.html?lang=EN
That should get you started, make sure that all of the information you enter matches the information contained in the NetworkSolutions whois, exactly:
http://networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois
Then when it's all done you will have to open an Adobe document that you will need to print out, if it's a business, on letter head.[nbsp][nbsp]Then sign it and fax it to the Overseas fax number.
Total cost for me, about $11.00 USD domain renewal and $8.00 USD for the phone call.[nbsp][nbsp]
Good Luck
Bob
- Hmmm $18.00 vs $35.00[nbsp][nbsp]sounds good to me :P -

Thanks

Hi again,
Usually after sending one, I would receive an email in a couple of days first from Network Solutions with this as a subject: NSI Accepts Domain Name Transfer Request
Then in another day or two the final one from Joker.com
I wish you the best of Luck and congratulate you on breaking Free of the NetSol shackles[nbsp][nbsp]:)
Have a Good One

- Solutions? Only if they actually offered solutions not Problems :P -

Bob...just a quick "Thanks!" for your timely note.[nbsp][nbsp]HosannaChurch.com is up for renewal from NSI and I was wanting to move it to Joker where I have all but one or two DNs now.[nbsp][nbsp]The form/process you provided worked like a champ...all faxed over, just praying for no glitches.[nbsp][nbsp]But then, "glitches" happen, eh?[nbsp][nbsp]It's hard to beat $11.22/yr!
I didn't check around, but might this might be good fodder for an Aota page if it isn't already there (or Service Desk)?
Thanks again!

Yeah.. see I am useful! I provided a question that actually is a good one! :P
I do also suggest this be at aota or the desk!
I am still waiting on joker to get back at my second attempt.. first time I had a company name in the owner.. had to add another handle and all.. I will letcha all know what happens. :D

I will say for this Dotster.com shines as the transfer process they use is both web based in painless :)
The process involves you paying a fee (currently 12$) and then entering the domain to transfer. The system will then email the contacts in NSI's database for that domain a url for them to click on as well as a code to enter on that page. Simply do that and wait a day or two and its all moved over to Dotster :) All automated and no faxing involved hopefully eliminating human error :)
