I got this email from register.com:

Recently, you contacted register.com Customer Support and we want to hear from you![nbsp][nbsp]Please help us better assist you by following the link below and completing our short survey.[nbsp][nbsp]It won't take more than just a few seconds.
This is for a ticket I opened up weeks ago for which I never got a response.[nbsp][nbsp]So, I took the oppurtunity to tell em how much the service blew and we arranged to transfer the domain elsewhere.

*groan*

Ontop f that I got a really weird change dns confirmation from register.com this morning - but no one had initiate changes that I know - it did include deleting the orignal name servers that never showed on the record for me to delete but are still floating around somewhere.[nbsp][nbsp]But then it also ddeleted the current name servers and added 2 other old ones.[nbsp][nbsp]I contacted our provider, woh guessed it was register.com trying to fix a mistake they though they made or something, and that the name servers that were currently in the record were still correct.

It was at that point I swore under my breath and got the heck out of register.com.

bleh!

Lea

Hey guys -

Regarding Register.com -- they are completely horrible.

I had about 12 domains with them, and was disgusted not only by their complete gross incompetence, but also by their disinterest in resolving issues.

I went so far as to speak directly with two different managers, as well as e-mailing upper management, and there was absolutely nobody who was remotely interested or concerned.[nbsp][nbsp]It seemed like they simply placed no value on an individual customer or on reliable service.

They are like the Interland of domain registration (I'm sure many of you have heard about or had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Interland - ugh!)

Incidentally, I also received a satisfaction survey well after the fact.

After registering domains with several other registrars, and finding everything out there to be overpriced or overly restrictive, I set myself up a BulkRegister account.[nbsp][nbsp]They are a B2B registrar and have been fantastic.

I've now been registering domains for all of my friends and associates, and I'm now working on setting up a website for direct user interface.

If any of you need domains registered inexpensively, I can do them for 15 bucks or less, depending on volume.

Also, a great service for free domain parking and forwarding is located at www.myinternet.com.[nbsp][nbsp]Very reliable, and great services for free.

Hope that helps.
