Who fixes em?

Our internic record says this:

Domain Name: RABBITNETWORK.ORG
[nbsp][nbsp] Registrar: REGISTER.COM, INC.
[nbsp][nbsp] Whois Server: whois.register.com
[nbsp][nbsp] Referral URL: www.register.com (http://www.register.com)
[nbsp][nbsp] Name Server: NS3.I-P-D.NL
[nbsp][nbsp] Name Server: NS2.I-P-D.NL
[nbsp][nbsp] Name Server: NS1.I-P-D.NL
[nbsp][nbsp] Name Server: DNS1.I-P-D.NL
[nbsp][nbsp] Name Server: DNS2.I-P-D.NL

But our register.com record says this:

[nbsp]Domain servers in listed order:

[nbsp][nbsp] DNS1.I-P-D.NL[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp] 217.18.64.3[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]
[nbsp][nbsp] DNS2.I-P-D.NL[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp] 217.18.65.4[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]
[nbsp][nbsp] NS3.I-P-D.NL[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]208.231.1.189[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]

THe register.com record is the correct dns - howver when I went in to make the changes it did not list any dns at alkl - not even the ones I roginally put in -which are the same ones listed with internic above[nbsp][nbsp](teh first two) Thusly I was never able to offically "delete" these old dns from the record.

I don't know why the odl dns never showd up in teh rregister.com record ever. We also had some problems with register.com taking changes to our contact info after it was register and flubbed up by the peopel who registered it - who although they wer nice enough to pay for it - didn't bother waiting for me to email them all the proper contact and dns info - thusly I had to use the register.com interface ot modify these and - for some reason the record never took. So the contacts were wrong and there was no dns listed...although internic got the correct ones at some point and our site worked.

How does this stufdf work? how do we change the bad entreisd in internic?[nbsp][nbsp] I did open up a customer service ticket with register.com on Feb 9 - but their customer service really blows and all I have heard is that they are induated iwth emails baout promotions and stuff...blah blah blah

I figure someon areound here could get me some sort of answer to something - cuz this site has been down over a week due to the fact it is still pointing at the defunct server. BLEH!

Lea,

I don't think this is an Internic problem. I think it's a problem with IPD. www.rabbitnetwork.org (http://www.rabbitnetwork.org) resolves to 208.239.240.129 which is the IP address of ns1.i-p-d.nl .
You should probably check with IPD about their DNS record for your site.

oddly enough - we got an email from i-p-d this morning listing entirely different name servers than any of the ones on my record - doh

I'm really curious though as to why internic and register.com's records differ.[nbsp][nbsp]That's been driving me batty...oh wait I think I was already batty- but none the less....

hmmm you knwo I my signature still lists the wrong website...never mind the wrong dns..hmm gotta go fix that too I guess

Your whois record at register.com now displays two new name servers (nr7.i-p-d.nl and nr6.i-p-d.nl). These are the correct ones I assume? If you use nr7.i-p-d.nl to resolve the IP address for www.rabbitnetwork.org (http://www.rabbitnetwork.org) it comes up with; 217.18.64.29
If that's correct, then this change should propagate to Internic and the rest of the Internet within a couple of days (normally no more than 2).
The Internic database isn't updated daily, I think. That's why the databases are not always the same.

I just updated those this morning.[nbsp][nbsp]The weird thing with internic was that although their database had been updated several times since I had made the first change at register.com - they were still showing those old ones at the top - but had just added the others to the bottom of the list - which I don't understand why those were never removed from the internic database.

It concerns me because I was never able to "remove" them from register.com because those old ones (ns1.i-p-d.nl) never showed up in register.com even though I put them in there - so I was wondering if they are someplace and need to be deleted - yet since they never showed on the record - I never had the option to delete them...does that make any sense?

I'm hoping we get a break thru in 24 hours or so with the new ones - but I'm a bit leary with internic having never deleted the old servers from their record - even more than a week after I had changed them at register.com.

Well teh good news is that I know our site is actualyl on a server somewhere cuz I was just able to ssh and ftp to it using nr7.i-p-d.nl

Woohoo! it looks like we are starting to propagate! (this is what rabbits do best of course!) The site is still resolving to the old server from my work and home computers, but www.domainwatch.com (http://www.domainwatch.com) is resolving it correctly.
[nbsp]I am sooo psychin!
