Can someone help me figure out what is going on here? A whois check gives me this:

Domain Name: xxxxxxx.NET
[nbsp][nbsp] Registrar: CORE INTERNET COUNCIL OF REGISTRARS
[nbsp][nbsp] Whois Server: whois.corenic.net
[nbsp][nbsp] Referral URL: www.corenic.net (http://www.corenic.net)
[nbsp][nbsp] Name Server: No nameserver
[nbsp][nbsp] Updated Date: 10-jul-2000
But lower down in the same page it shows quite clearly that the DNS is pointing to FQ:

Record last modified: 2001-01-09 15:34:27 UTC by CORE-11
[nbsp][nbsp] Record created:[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp] 2000-07-10 18:06:51 UTC by CORE-11
[nbsp][nbsp] Record expires:[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp] 2002-07-10 13:12:13 UTC

[nbsp][nbsp] Domain servers in listed order:

[nbsp][nbsp] ns1.futurequest.net 63.95.221.2
[nbsp][nbsp] ns2.futurequest.net 63.95.220.68
[nbsp][nbsp] ns3.futurequest.net 63.144.24.2
Typing in the domain name in the browser leads to an error. Any ideas?

Joe.

Hmmm... it is difficult to say without knowing what the domain is so I could take a look.

Are you doing the whois directly at http://www.whois.corenic.net/ ?

If you are on Qbert, you will be getting a browser error regardless because that server happens to be down right now...[nbsp]

Jeff,

Thanks for replying. I was using OpenSRS Whois Lookup Utility. The http://www.whois.corenic.net/ just shows the Futurequest DNS details, and no mention of Name Server: No nameserver.

Very puzzling. I'll give it another day to see if it propagates and then get in touch with joker.

There might be something strange going on - I'm not sure.

I just ran the whois at http://www.opensrs.com/ on one of my domains (registered a while back with Joker) and it did turn up the FQ nameservers in both the top as well as the bottom portion...

You could be right. I've just done a check at OpenSRS on one of my other domains - registered with Joker from the outset - and Futurequest shows up top and bottom. Hmmm. I'll get in touch with Joker straight away methinks.

.... and even as I was writing the above message, things seemed to be resolving themselves. The OpenSRS whois is still showing the No nameservers line, but everything now works![nbsp]
