View Full Version : Request for domains

Hello all,

A few months ago, someone posted a message to the forums complaining that they had bought "cool-sounding" domain names that they had no use for but had to register them anyway.

At the time, I invited that person to e-mail me a list, as I might be interested in buying one, but I got no takers.

So, I'm posting this request again - if anyone in these forums has any domain names that they do not need and are interested in selling, please contact me at jason@dailyregister.com with your list. I am very serious about purchasing a domain name in the very near future, and I will pay several hundred dollars (perhaps even more) if/when I find the "right" domain.

My criteria is simply that it should be short, easy to remember, generic (meaning if it's a made-up word or something along those lines - like "Verizon.com", which I wish I had thought of before Bell Atlantic/GTE snapped it up - it'd be better than something more specialized like "computers.com" since something like computers.com, believe it or not, would too limiting for my needs).

In fact, if anyone can find that original post from a few months ago, the domain name that that person posted is exactly the type of thing I am looking for (though I can't recall what specifically that domain name was, so it might not suit exactly - but that type of thing would be perfect, and maybe even that specific domain would suit still if that person contacted me).

At any rate - I am here, I have money, and I want to buy a domain name. If you have one you are looking to sell, please e-mail me at jason@dailyregister.com.

Thanks,

Jason

The problem Jason, may be that this place is full of DomainAholics ;)

Definition of a DomainAholic ????

Register Names that are COOL but have no idea what to do with?

Register Great Domain Names related to specific events and still don't have a clue what to do with?

Register Speculative names, because that gives them an excuse to register them in the first place!

AND THE NUMBER ONE DEFINITION OF A DOMAINAHOLIC !!!!!

Register names because they know what they want to do with them but NEVER FIND THE TIME !!!!!

[nbsp]- let me introduce you to my domain dealer, her name is Deb...

p.s. It was a 3-step process, last I checked.

Hey Jason

Why not have a play with the <font color=#FF0000>Domain Name Wizard</font> ;)

http://www.futurequest.net/cgi-bin/domain/wizard.pl?show_wizard=1

S'long as Dan, Bob &amp; Deb are not using it, that is :o

S'long as Dan, Bob &amp; Deb are not using it, that is I'm actually barely a budding domainaholic.[nbsp][nbsp]I don't belong in the same discussion as Bob and Deb, nor do I deserve to.[nbsp][nbsp];)

Why not have a play with the Domain Name Wizard
Heh... I've tried doing things like that. The problem is that there is no company name yet, nor anything that describes the business. We're going to be finding the domain name first (the hardest part of the process) and then incorporating the business based on that domain name.

And yes - the domainaholics thing is exactly why I posted here instead of elsewhere - I figured there is a very good possibility that someone here in the FQ forums has a domain name that would be absolutely perfect for our use, and it's just a matter of convincing them to part with it.

FYI, in addition to being willing to pay cash for the domain, I also have a couple of other domains I'd include as a trade (incentive for you domainaholics who might not be as thrilled about getting cash as you might be about getting a couple new domains ;)[nbsp][nbsp])

Thanks 0degree, but none of those domains meet my needs. But thank you for providing the list for me to look at.

Wait a second. Why was there a domainaholic classification and my name was not even mentioned? Do I not have around 75 domain names, now?!?!? :) Do I not register domains on a whim... just hoping one day I will have out-bought Deb?

-Tatu :D

Make that &quot;S'long as Tatu, Bob &amp; Deb are not using it, that is&quot; pronto. :P

That would be me :) It was about 'kiobi.com', in http://www.aota.net/ubb/Forum13/HTML/000222-1.html

But I'm still not sure what to do with this domain, as it sounds kinda catchy to me.

[ But how about gameflash.com :) ]
