View Full Version : "Site Statistics" for IRM domains?

Is there any way to get site statistics
for IRM domains? Let's say that the
"main" domain is x.com and that the
IRM domain x.net "points" to the
subdirectory corresponding to
x.com/net .

Now, is there any way to get the same
kind of site statistics for x.net that
is available for x.com on
http://www.x.com/stats/ ?

Please note that there wouldn't be
neither any http://www.x.net/stats/ nor
any http://www.x.com/net/stats/ .

From the FAQ ( http://Service.FutureQuest.net/ ) We cannot separate the stats in a way would that would satisfy your request. Since the IRM/IRO is really only sharing the same space as the full account they do lump together. One option may be to name your files accordingly, such as Domain-page.html or IRO-page.html to help you discern the differences.

Or you may want to consider outsourcing part of your statistic needs to services such as http://www.mycomputer.com/ having them only report for certain pages.

The other option would be to upgrade the IRM and/or IRO account(s) to a full package which would then give them all of the functionality of a full account including their own Stat files.

Hey Samuel,

I have a bunch of IRMs, and what I did was set up each domain with Hitometer.[nbsp][nbsp]It's FREE[nbsp][nbsp]:)[nbsp][nbsp](My favorite word)

It gives my domain owners all that they seem to want and need about traffic.[nbsp][nbsp]You can check it out here:

Hope this helps,

I still prefer either Sitemeter (http://www.sitemeter.com) or The Counter (http://www.thecounter.com) for stats because you can customize the appearance on your page.[nbsp][nbsp]Sitemeter allows very small digits, and The Counter has an invisible counter.[nbsp][nbsp]Both are free.

Thank you very much for the answers!

Deb, my problem isn't that I want to
"separate" the statistics, but that it
seems as there aren't any statistics
for the IRM domain at all:

My IRM http://wapentake.net/ web address
corresponds to http://wapentake.com/net/
but on the page
http://wapentake.com/stats/www2000/files1000.html
(i.e. the "All URLs" stats page) there
aren't any access stats for the "net"
directory at all.

However "All Agents" (and perhaps also
"All Refers"?) seems to be Ok.

I'd be perfectly happy with accesses
to http://wapentake.net/* registerad as
accesses to http://wapentake.com/net/* .

And an "idiot" question: Could the
problem have something to do with the
fact that I'm using a ".htaccess" file
to define my own MIME types:

AddType[nbsp][nbsp]text/vnd.wap.wml[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp].wml
AddType[nbsp][nbsp]application/vnd.wap.wml-wbxml[nbsp][nbsp] .wmlc
AddType[nbsp][nbsp]text/vnd.wap.wmlscript[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp].wmls
AddType[nbsp][nbsp]application/vnd.wap.wmlscriptc[nbsp][nbsp].wmlsc
AddType[nbsp][nbsp]image/vnd.wap.wbmp[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp].wbmp
AddType[nbsp][nbsp]text/vnd.wap.wml[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp].htm

Perhaps hits to such files don't count
as "page hits"?

Hi Samuel,

When trying to access http://wapentake.com/net/, or http://www.wapentake.net,[nbsp][nbsp]with two different browsers, all I seem to get is a download for "wapentake"?[nbsp][nbsp]

While looking at your stats I did notice a subfolder named wc98sx and kravmaga that may be just subfolder or sub-domains showing information.[nbsp][nbsp]This would be similar to what you would see for a sub domain such as /net/

Yes, that's a file of MIME type "text/vnd.wap.wml".

Perhaps this is the reason it's not
included in the stats as a normal
page hit? (BTW, One can look at it "a
a page" with a WAP phone or a WML
browser.)

Yes, they aren't any IRMs, just
sub-folders.

Yes, that's exactly what I'd expect,
but I don't see any stats for e.g.
http://wapentake.com/net/ and
http://wapentake.com/net/kravmaga/

I FOUND OUT THE ANSWER!!

The "page hits" for wapentake.net/* ARE
in fact accounted for, but not as hits
to wapentake.com/net/* , but as hits
to wapentake.com/* !

This explains a lot. Ok, I just need
to have separate file names. (As also
has been suggested, though I didn't
fully understand the idea at that time.)

Thanx everybody in this thread for help,
suggestions etc!
