How long has it been taking Internic (Network Solutions) lately in transfering information from one server to another.
Thanks

Hi Clint,
What do you mean by "later?"[nbsp][nbsp]If you're just asking how long it takes to update a record with new server info, I did that last weekend and it took them almost exactly 48 hours.
Hope that helps,
Dan

I submitted a form to Network Solutions yesterday at 3PM. I got email telling me that the changes are done at 3:27PM (that was quick!).
However I have not heard anything about a contact NIC handle template submitted on 13th December.

I should clarify...[nbsp][nbsp]It took roughly 48 hours for the domains to propogate, but it took a matter of minutes for the email confirmation of the transfer.
I hate to say it, especially considering I can't keep my fingers crossed while typing, but I've had pretty good luck with InterNIC.[nbsp][nbsp]I've experienced none of the horrendous delays that are often reported.[nbsp][nbsp]My biggest complaint is that their instructions always seem worded in a way that you can never tell which is the correct form.[nbsp][nbsp]:(

It has been over 3 complete days since I made the request to switch to Futurequest and no such luck at this time.

Did you get the email confirmation of the changes?[nbsp][nbsp]If not, you're probably needlessly holding your breath, and I'd recommend re-filing.[nbsp][nbsp]If you have received the confirmation, well then, sit and wait...

I am starting to like this guy, Dan! *grin*
Network Solutions has been very quick with their updates in their data base! 48 hours is the longest wait I have had as well.
One thing to make sure of is like Dan said, did you get a confirmation letter?
I had a client that messed up and put some code in his email... (reply to) and he never got the records taken care of. (he has his email client set up this way to avoid spam) -- in other words, make sure you entered the correct email address and make sure it is active!
If you got the confirmation letter, did you enter the server numbers correctly?
try this URL:
http://www.networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois
and see what their data base is telling you.
Dan gave you the best advice, resubmit.
Best of luck to ya!

And here I thought I've been posting too much![nbsp][nbsp]:)[nbsp][nbsp]Oops, there I go again...[nbsp][nbsp]I lost the keys to my cave, otherwise I'd go hide...

It's also important to note that NSI sends out 1 confirmation email letting you know they have received your email and a second confirmation email when they have actually done the update.[nbsp][nbsp]If you don't receive both of them, your changes have not been made.

I was going to ask the same question, just wondering
how long it these were have been taking for transfers.
I got my confirmation letter from internic 0n 01/06
and changes showed up in the whois database the next
day, but the domain still has not been transfered so
it seemed a bit strange, or maybe I just had really
good luck with the transfers of the past. Should I
do anything or just wait. :)

There was one new domain that I had registered and I got all of the proper confirmation information, but after 4 days it still wasn't showing up.[nbsp][nbsp]Then the website owner called me to tell me how excited she was that her web site was up and running, and I still couldn't see it????[nbsp][nbsp] I was using Bellsouth as an ISP and on a whim I logged off and tried earthlink and Lo and Behold there was the web site.[nbsp][nbsp]I called Bellsouth and spoke to a tech based in atlanta and it was also visable from there. After a couple of tries he logged on through Jacksonville's servers and it wasn't there again.[nbsp][nbsp]They had failed to implement the nightly InterNic updates completely.[nbsp][nbsp]2 days later it was fixe for good. So it's hard to tell some time ???
