Reading the article at the following URL:
http://www.internetnews.com/bus-news/article/0,1087,3_181351,00.html
mentions that NSI charges $119 for 2 yr domain registration with 'name service'. What is this extra $49 for 'name service' get for you?

LOL, I think that threw me at first too.
Name service, if I'm not mistaken, is DNS service.[nbsp][nbsp]In other words, you can more or less park your domain there until you decide where you want to put it.
Register.com includes name service in the $70.[nbsp][nbsp]Much better deal... or that german one for forty-something...

With all of the new registrars popping up, I know this will become a common question... as such I'm working on some tutorials to try and help out a bit...
You will find some Name Servers and help here http://Register.FutureQuest.net/
Still under construction ;)

Hmmm, I smell a possible opportunity here.[nbsp][nbsp]Do any of the new registrats offer an affiliate program yet??[nbsp][nbsp]Register.com does but it doesn't pay anything - this reduces my motivation level significantly.

Yes, they do offer affiliate programs.[nbsp][nbsp]I've applied to join Domain Bank's program.[nbsp][nbsp]But there is no foreseeable final date for when, or if, they will release those new domains.[nbsp][nbsp]CORE says not to expect them to be available this year or perhaps even the first half of next year.
But they still do .com, .net, .org...
