400 hits? I don't want any!

I just got an account here at frequest. And I'm working on the page but for some reason I already have 400 hits in one day ???
I don't want any it's supposed to be secred till it's ready and all that. How can this happen? Is there a "new pages" list somewhere here??????[nbsp]

My guess is either you made the mistake of transfering a popular domain name before your site on FQuest was complete, or you've been viewing your pages yourself as you develop them.

Also keep in mind that Hits will count any file accessed. In other words, one HTML file with 9 images on it counts as 10 hits. What you need to look at is Page Views - that counts only hits to HTML/PHP/SHTML/etc files.

what ya might wanna do, if this makes you uncomfortable, is put up an 'under development' page or something like that, and make that your main index.htm while you work on your site. when you are ready to unveil your master piece, remove the temp file you put up and rename whatever.html to be your main one. unless of course you have already done that ;)
