What's a good program for creating/editing web pages? I use Visual Page now & it's okay but pretty unstable at times.
I'm looking for a wysiwyg, point-and-shoot program but -- puhleez -- NOT anything by Microsoft.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Personally I use Dreamweaver for html stuff and Edit Plus for hand coding.

You might want to have a look at Adobe Golive - that is, unless you are on W2K (can't seem to install it for some weird reason).[nbsp][nbsp]I actually prefer Golive to Dreamweaver, if only because it is better organized.[nbsp][nbsp]Functionally, though, both programs are pretty good.
My HTML editor is Notepad :)

Once again I will tout the benefits of Netscape.
1. It's FREE
2. It comes with a built in WYSIWYG editor, "Composer"
3. It has a built in HTML editor for all the extras you want to add.
4. It's FREE[nbsp][nbsp]Oops I already mentioned that didn't I ??? :P

I definitely wouldn't personally recommend Composer.[nbsp][nbsp]It's not very powerful at all, and I think it's just about one of the most annoying programs in the world.[nbsp][nbsp]Just my personal opinion.[nbsp][nbsp]Never used Golive, but I'm a very big Dreamweaver 3 fan.[nbsp][nbsp]Even its HTML editing is great, as it puts you wherever your cursor is on the web page, and it updates the page as you change it.[nbsp][nbsp]Dreamweaver 3 gets my vote.

There was a thread - last week?[nbsp][nbsp]Week before?[nbsp][nbsp]Net time is such a blur, LOL :D! Do a recent search for Homesite - lots of great features.

Dreamweaver 3 gets my vote also.
I like it because you can design your site in layers and then convert to tables. Additionally, being able to create a template and then subsequent new pages from the template is very rational for managing multiple pages. You can easily change the copyright date, contact info, etc on just the template and then update your whole site.
It is very easy to do mouseovers using DW3. And it is very easy to organize a site and have ALL the links work.
Another great feature of DW3 is that you can do multiple links from one page to many other pages on your site using the index of your site by using the DW# "string" or icon that you stretch to these links.
I find the keyboard shortcuts for doing anchors and such very intuitive and easy to remember.
Finally, if you every create html from Word (which we do from large scientific documents when we want the endnote numbers to be linked to the references) DW3 has the ability to remove all of those annoying Word comments.
But there are two bugs I find very annoying:
1) the bullets are very difficult to work with and never seem to work right
2) you have no control over the default font which I find to be very annoying
And more more caveat:
I have had a lot of trouble when converting existing pages made on another editor using the "apply template" command. It seems that if you put a table in a table, which this command does, then you are in for big trouble. It is far easier to start from scratch!
Hope that helps!
Judy
