Toooooo[nbsp][nbsp]Funny :)
There are days, when I wish......................................
Oh Well ;)
Thanks,
Bob
LOL! I guess this thread is as good as any to tell a tiny little story....
I was on the phone with my sister the other day and she wanted to pick up plane tickets for her son's vacation.[nbsp][nbsp]She asked me if I knew who had the best prices right now.[nbsp][nbsp]Well, I kindly mentioned she should just shop around on the internet as that's the fastest/easiest way to compare rates.[nbsp][nbsp]The call ended on a good note and we both went on our way....
Yesterday my sister called me in a panic:
Sister: "Deb I can't handle this![nbsp][nbsp]I just don't know how to use this thing![nbsp][nbsp]I feel like such an idiot![nbsp][nbsp]Gawd what's wrong with me?![nbsp][nbsp]Please help me!"
Deb: "Woah, slow down.[nbsp][nbsp]What's wrong?"
Sister:[nbsp][nbsp]"I'm on that site and I can't find anything about plane tickets.[nbsp][nbsp]I've clicked everywhere and it's just not there.[nbsp][nbsp]Please just look for me, I'm blind!"
Deb: (note this is on the phone so things weren't as clear to me yet) "What site are you on? Did you try YAHOO! ?"
Sister: "I'm on the one YOU told me to go to!"
Deb: "Uhhh which one....I don't remember... spell it for me"
Sister: "I N T E R . N E T"
Deb: " ahem.... let me do some digging around and I'll call you back with some potential flight quotes...."
After that all I could do was hang up...go through a few moments of histerical laughter and then follow through on my promise to her...

Why I bring that up here I dunno hehe but I sure wish that button had been available for my sister :P

I guess after a message like that it's safe to say your sister will probably never see that you've TOTALLY embarrased her to the world.[nbsp][nbsp]:P

She might have found what she was looking for if she had hit the 'any' key.

I can only call out a few of them, and it's hard, but for me this is particularly perverse: I'm red-green color impaired, so several of those (the first "Yellow" and "Blue" words, for instance) are virtually impossible for me to tell apart. OK. I can't do it, so "virtually" is really optimistic in this case.
This is, almost certainly, also why I never got into the hardware side of computers, since my first experiments with electronics and (color coded) resistors left me destroying circuits or making things that would stop the electrical output of a lightning bolt. :)
LOL @ Paul ...though the color blindness isn't a laughing matter the issue of your creations within the box could be and just to say "we understand"... I deal with deafness, and had to laugh at one of my first experiences with hardware when we were told to "read the beeps" of the broken pc... ummmm what beeps would that be?[nbsp][nbsp]It's a conspiracy I tell ya![nbsp][nbsp]Those beeps followed the same tone that I cannot hear :P

While we're at it... look around to ensure there's no one there and then try this one out loud How nice to see they know the correct spelling for <font color=#FF0000>COLOUR</font> :)
And a client of mine discovered that she always got a DNS error when she typed <font color=#FF0000>wwwdotyahoodotcom</font> in her browser :(
Dunno why - that's exactly what I told her to type :)
<edit: close your tags, stupid, close your tags>
Simon
- No matter how you spell it, it's always the same colour :)
