You know, anyone who makes an image that was as ubiquitous as that one was during the early 70's, and never regretted getting a patent/copyright/whatever on it, because he could only drive one car at a time, and could only eat one steak at a time, that guy must've had a really well-adjusted outlook on life. He must've enjoyed things just as they came. Well, I guess it would take an all-right kinda guy, to think up an icon like the ol' smiley, huh?
[I remember, at one point, the "junk-drawer" in our family kitchen--when I was about 9 years old or so--having fistfulls of those smiley face buttons in it.]
And if he hadn't shared the smiley with all of us, and had copyrighted or trademarked it instead, what would we all be posting on this UBB now?
