I've always preferred to just take it apart and see for myself how it works. And hope I can put it back together. Without extra parts left over. Yeah, much more fun than reading about it :P

I don't know about that Justin. Having parts left over might be a good thing. Using Rapps Law of Inanimate Reproduction, if you take things apart and put them back together enough times, eventually you'll have two of them. I rebuilt the 289 engine in my '67 Mustang once and had 6 bolts left over at the end. Even an expert mechanic friend couldn't figure out which bolts they were or where they were supposed to go, but the car ran fine. Besides, it just made the car lighter and more fuel efficient ;)[nbsp]

Well, I'm not sure about having enough parts left over to create two of the same thing, but I do have a habit of replacing non-broken parts and ending up with extra whole computers... but that's a bit different...

I do recall replacing my alternator, losing a bolt, and having a vibration at around 2000 RPM ever since... but I know exactly where that bolt would go, if I only knew where it was...
