The world's largest search engine just went online![nbsp][nbsp]FAST Search ( http://www.alltheweb.com/ ).

FAST Search currently includes more than 200 million unique URLs in its database, making its catalog almost twice the size of search engine reseller Inktomi™ and three to four times bigger than several popular search engines...
At 200 million URLs, the new FAST Search indexes more of the Web than any other search engine and in one year's time is expected to catalog the entire Internet – and then to keep up with the growth of the Web from that point forward...
The parallel FAST Search architecture also delivers exceptional search speed - a typical query on FAST Search races through all 200 million documents in less than 1 second. In addition, by using many systems working in parallel, FAST Search builds its document index in only 12 hours, a task that takes many search engines several days or even weeks to perform The result is fresher information to web surfers on a more consistent basis.

The above quote was taken from http://www.fast.no/company/press/twbs02081999.html .

Unbelievable...

It also had some of my old pages...

I don't like it, sure it is fast (I searched for 's' and I got 108358004 found in 0.715 seconds) but it doesn't offer anything more other then a whole lot more sites that are not even up any more.

I resubmitted my URL and it seemed to accept it. Maybe in a few weeks, the spider will get around to re-indexing my site and it will be updated. Is that how it works?

Oops...not a good thing,
They have about 20 pages of mine listed that don't exist any more, and have not for many months.

I guess they are not in a hurry to delete dead URL's from the database.[nbsp][nbsp]Active or dead, the more URL's the merrier. ;)
