Why is color TV static is black and white?
The same reason fuzz on a stereo receiver is in mono - the extra information for the stereo signal is on a 38 kHz subcarrier, where the color information is on a 3.579 MHz subcarrier - if that signal level is too low, it shuts down the color (for compatibility with B&W broadcasts) - it's all a matter of downward compatibility :)

Sorry, I had to answer that one :)

Oooh, I know . . .

Same reason we're content here with our crappy old dial-tv that doesn't pick up any channels . . . who needs TV when you've got FutureQuest to play on?!

hehehe

That's it - I'm picking up a laptop and a cellular modem before I hit the road so I can keep an eye on things hehehe ;)[nbsp][nbsp]Of course it might be a good idea to keep an eye on the road... I guess that's why I have 2 LOL :)

Why do stomachs rumble?
How does scratching stop itching?
Why dont we sneeze when asleep?
Why when pouring into a wet glass, sparkling wine or beer don't froth up?
Why do clocks move clockwise?
Why is color TV static is black and white?
How does a silencer on a gun work?
Why do clouds have flat bottoms and round, fluffy tops?

Ever wonder about this stuff?[nbsp][nbsp]See:
