View Full Version : Would like some opinions
Hello,
I was wondering, guys, if you had the time to visit http://www.digitaldynasty.com/example.shtml. If you do visit it can you give me your opinions? Thanks in advance.

Very interesting site!
I wonder though, the width of it on narrow monitors may be a problem (I know most people have decent sized monitors now, but being forced to surf from the Univ has taught me that not everyone has upgraded yet!!)
on a small monitor/screen size, people might have to scroll horizontally to see the nav bar (and i hate doing that)
other than that nit-picky thing, I think your site looks really great!

Thanks for your reply. Yea I was really thinking about that, I was thinking of making a seperate site made for 640x480 screens and use a javascript redirect.

Hey, I like it! Really like that the buttons are NOT on the right like every other page on the web (including mine http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif) I also like the button graphics a lot. Very nice.
I agree that most sites should be viewable at 640 x 480, but at the same time, if they don't want to upgrade to a monitor that is better than that, they are going to be out of luck at a lot of sites and are probably used to it by now anyway http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif I always make my sites 600 or so wide and use the "web safe" colors when possible... but you only get 6 shades of grey with that, and that's not enough at all for your design.
All in all, I usually figure if it looks good at 800 x 600 @ 16bpp then it's fine. I'm using 1024 x 768 @ 32bpp and it looks great (tried lower resolutions too).

Hi Justin,
Yea I design for 800x600 resolution and High Color. I can go to 1024 res. but it forces me down to 256 colors, time for new monitor huh. Well thanks for your reply, really appreciate it.

your site is simply divine. those graphics are incredible, and worth the wait (it could be the Net traffic. It's a slow day and I'm connceting over a LAN, I bet everyone is on.. or at least that's what I noticed last time I walked around.)
it's so great how everyone is responding to your request. are you getting private email inquiries?

It's a little off topic, but a monitor is analog - it will display any amount of colors your video card will throw at it http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif It's time for a new video card - not a new monitor http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
