Question for you all: I'm using PSP 5 (eek can't wait until i can afford an upgrade to 7 :() ... anyways, anybody have a suggestion on an easy way of creating text in a circular format?[nbsp][nbsp]Normally I'd use WordArt in Works or something but this is high res project (around 300 dpi) and was just hoping there was some freeware software or something that would allow me to do this faster than some manual just sit there and spend hours rotating each letter and aligning to a circle on a seperate layer.

Umm did any of that make sense?

I didn't know there was a new version of PSP out; looks like they improved quite a few things.[nbsp][nbsp]It appears you can download a trial copy:

I don't know if a 34 meg download counts as "faster"...[nbsp][nbsp]If it's like previous versions, most everything will work in the trial copy but it expires after 30 or 60 days (they say 30, but I think it goes through 60, just with extra warnings).

Unfortunately, unless you have a vector program like Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator, text on a circular path is usually something that comes with blood, sweat and tears.[nbsp][nbsp]

But you may want to take a look at this link:

Apparently PSP6 has some kind of capability which does it fairly easily and with desirable results.

May be worth a trial download to simply get the feature, use it for your needs, then uninstall.

yeah figured it wasn't possible without use of vector.[nbsp][nbsp]And PSP has had that since 6.0... hmm time to consider bellying up the money for the upgrade I guess considering. Downloading 34 megs over a 56K for just a trial version is probably pointless... so

But thanks for the replies

If it makes you feel any better, their servers are cruising along admirably -- downloading the PSP and Animation Shop demos only took a few minutes with cable; no slow downs.[nbsp][nbsp]Now, we'll see if I get around to installing it and trying it out...

Actually circular text can be done in photoshop so I'll assume it could be done in PSP.[nbsp][nbsp]It's not easy but it can be done.[nbsp][nbsp]Personally though I just load up Fireworks 3, a great piece of software.

It still involves setting every letter manually, which in most cases, is a pain in the rear.[nbsp][nbsp]Especially if you have to edit words, or apply text or layer effects or changes on those effects.[nbsp][nbsp]You are also required to manually kern every letter, which is bad enough working on a straight line.

"few minutes with cable" :P

Shalazar, yeah I know that's why I was looking for an easy way...lol.[nbsp][nbsp]Didn't even want the headache if I could avoid it.
