Photoshop- Mac to PC problems

Hi there,

I have some trouble opening a version 4 .psd file from a Mac on my version 5 PC. I receive the files via email, so I can only rely on the people sending it to me, that they don't have any problems opening that files up on their computers. I heard some rumors (*g*) that there actually are problems if the filename contains funny chars, but even a.psd doesn't work.

Any ideas?

is all it says.

I received it zipped, sit-ed, uncompressed, and I even downloaded it from a server. It is quite a big file though, maybe that's the trouble. It's 600kb, but if there were any problems in the past, I had the file sent over again, and it worked. This time I received 5 different versions, and it doesn't work.
Firework2 won't open it either, QuickView Plus doesn't do, but strangely ThumbsPlus does give me a thumbnail.

Any clue?

Have you tried the file in different formats?[nbsp][nbsp]If you have to have the layers, save each as a PNG and send those, for instance.

You pulled this out of an email?[nbsp][nbsp]Have you asked for it to be sent in a compressed format?[nbsp][nbsp](You'll need the PC version of a Mac compression proggy.)[nbsp][nbsp]Have you tried opening the file in any other programs?
