I'd be curious if anyone is using this and what are it's major attributes??

Whut up all?

Well I say Fireworks is a good tool for someine that doesn't want to get into Photoshop because of price. But I don't really like Fireworks that much because the work space is kinda small. I usually use Fireworks to export my PSD files, great optimization tool. If I think of anything else, I'll reply again, or if you have any Photoshop questions I may be able to answer.

I've got to chime in here a little late and say the Fireworks is a very powerful tool. I use it every day, all day. It basically took the place of Photoshop, which i now only use to edit photos, apply certain affects, or for print stuff. I guess the main pros are that, unlike photoshop, Fireworks combines vector capabilities as well as bitmap images. I use it to create design mockups for our clients, since it will automatically generate the javascript for rollovers and table structure (saves a ton of time). I always end up hand coding the final design, but for mockup purposes, it's great as well the fact that EVERYTHING you've ever done in your document is completely editable. (photoshop falls behind here)
I could go on, but work is calling. Let me know if you want more info.

I use Fireworks 2 to make all the crappy banners on my site. I get over 1,000 clicks on the banners each month, so I like to change them often. I also track the clicks on the banners to see which ones are effective. I am not a graphics wiz.
Fireworks 2 can whip out rollovers, animated gifs, image maps...whatever in less than 5 minutes each. I luv this program.
