Hi,
[nbsp]
[nbsp][nbsp]I have a Professional Technologies Intel Pentium 333MHz computer. It has a 1.96gig harddrive and is running Windows98.

[nbsp][nbsp]My computer has been running really slow lately. I want to reformat my harddrive and get rid of everything else because I can't seem to clear out any harddrive space. Can anyone provide any information as far as doing this goes? If you have step by step info on this you can e-mail it to goalkeeper813@aol.com

Hi,

hmmm... step by step?
I try to make it short, but every step is 100% important:

a) Backup everything !!!
b) Make sure you have a boot disk you can use to access the cd-rom. If you fail this step, you'll have a real problem later. Sometimes Windows comes with a disk like this.
c) Make sure you have all drivers and software needed to operate your PC available on floppy or cd.

If all this is o.k. you're ready to kill your PC as you now have everything to get it back to life.

d) Take 10 minutes and a cup of coffee and think if you really have everything of step a) to c) and you're really ready for e) to h)

e) Reboot into pure DOS
f) Format your disk ("format c:")
g) boot with the floppy from step b)
h) go to your Win98 CD and type "setup"

I do this quite ofen to my own PC and I know that I regularily failed wiht one of the steps. And that always took hours.
