I, as some of you know, frequent quite a few message forums around the net... among these, are forums that discuss various hosting companies. Over the past month or so the forums on these sites (especially hostinvestigator.com and webhostdir.com) have really been nothing short of hostile. There are currently some very angry people out there. This is mainly due to some problems other hosts have had as far as servicing their customers.... but at the same time I also notice even some of the better hosts getting stabbed at for glitches they may be having.

I have recently received emails from people still searching for a new host that say things like "my host was down for 15 minutes yesterday so I need a new one!". Now down time is NEVER a welcomed thing, but it is also to be expected from time to time, unfortunately. Maybe it has something to do with the stress of the holiday season etc but I've noticed people are being harder on the hosting companies then they have ever been before.

After reading these types of posts, I then come back here to our forums and see the types of things you guys are saying about us.... !WOW!. I surfed back through some of the threads today, especially the times that we ourselves were down, and I am amazed! Some how our dreams of creating a community seem to have a foundation that is proving to make the dreams a reality! It seems as if we are somehow earning the trust of many of you, and we are excited about that! Many of you have also posted reviews and comments about us on these host directories.. always giving us a perfect rating... I could never express to you how much that means to all of us!!! Those ratings have helped us grow, which in turn helps us to improve our services to you. Thank you!

I don't want to run a hosting service where we are a mystery to the site owners and vise versa.. The server is just as important to you guys as it is to us. We all want and need it to run smoothly and offer the tools required to run a successful site on the net. Without the site owners trusting us we have nothing. It's important for us to support all of you through your ventures on the net... and we are doing our absolute best to accomplish that. What I have realized though, is that it is equally as important for us to receive your support. The smiles, pats on the backs, good jobs, kind words here, and the kind words you've given us elsewhere on the net have made a world of difference for FutureQuest as a whole.

I am so PROUD to have you guys on this server -- I have to say it once again -- FutureQuest has the *BEST* community on the net as far as hosts go! It's no secret that we are a small business, family owned, and not even open a full year yet.. some have even tried to insult FQuest for those reasons... but with this type of support and a community of people all working together -- I don't see how it could go wrong. We have many features still being built .. and always will... but I think our foundations are solid. A huge part of that foundation is you guys and I just really want to thank you for being a part of the goals with FutureQuest.

I am looking forward to a year of many new things to come and hope you all can envision many of the same things we do. I only hope I can help you be as proud to have chosen FutureQuest out of the masses as we are that you did.

I never really know how to type a 'feeling' and I know this is getting way to long so I'll stop... Just know that you all are appreciated and we are thankful for all of the support you have given us while we work to build a rock solid server for the future...

Thanks!

Deb

Deb,

why some people expect perfection is beyond me..but you & Terra are so helpful and you give 200% with everything and it really shows.
I think some people get mad at their hosting companies because they know that the companies don't care about their service etc..
But I am very thankful that I found you! and you have my heartfelt gratitude for answering all my questions (especially the stupid ones http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif) and for all of your help with everything.

Ok, so I feel I need to put my 2 cents in. If it helps any Deb, I like the fact that you're new, small and "Family owned". You're more flexible, more friendly (and let me tell you something...I like being able to talk to the owners) and more willing to bend over backwards to help me, and others like me, out.

Just for the record...There are only 2 things that I've seen that you do differently. You limit disk space and limit e-mail accounts. Big deal. I've been working on my site now for the past month and of the 25 (now 50) megs I have, I'm using less than 4. Of the 20 E-Mailboxes, I'm using 3.

All in all I'm very happy with my service. The only thing that I ask is that when something screws up (and it will, I've been in computers long enough to know) and people start getting angry and complaining (and I could be one of them), remember that there are some of us that know that you are doing the best job possible to keep things running smoothly and keep us (the end user) happy.

Mike

Now my 2 cents http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif. I couldn't have asked for a better host company. It's not really a company, it's a family. You don't just present yourself as people who want to be a family and act concern for your customers..we are a family and you really do care.

I'm amazed at how important you make me feel as your customer and, even moreso, how well and efficiently you're running this 'family'. This is the type of customer service that is hard to find on the internet, but should be found more often.

I have been singing your praises everywhere I can. BTW, thanks for the Kagi referral...I am now accepting online transactions. http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Thank You for proving that the internet can be a friendly place to do business and that the "little" guys and gals do count. http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Oh and... *Mom, Dad..Can I borrow the car tonight???* heeheehee..

Well, the above just proves my point http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

Mike... you can yell at us if we can yell back <grin> "Now scoot over! your crowding me!"

Sandy, hearts, and auteur, thanks http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Auteur you can use the car tonight but only if you fill it up, give it a bath, and bring me back some Fritos and Mountain Dew http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks all...

p.s. now I'm off to go make a 'parenting post' in server news -- yuk...

Deb, just wanted to say that you and Terra are an inspiration - literally!
(email coming soon) http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
No, we don't want to go into to web hosting ourselves, but you have inspired us to think about the possibilities of running our own business.

Many thanks for everything!!!

I have to comment on this line;
No, we don't want to go into to web hosting ourselves

I did want to go into the webhosting business, so did my wife. But now I've come to realize something. There's no way I'll ever be able to build a box as good as Terra does. So, the only way I'll ever be able to set up my own server and still be able to live with myself, would be to pay Terra big bucks to build and maintain it for me. And, even if I ever did that, it'd still be second best cause I bet he's never gonna give away some of his secrets.

In January we're moving our two other domains onto FQuest accounts, and plan on living a nice, happy, weblife with Terra and Deb manning the machines.

I think this place is great. It seems like there are alot of tools for developers. This is my first time developing web pages seriously.

Byesville and Northstar pharmacies (in Ohio) has recently registered with your web hosting service and I have found you to be quite helpful. Byesville pharmacy is also a family-owned business. We are glad to be hosted by a family-owned business. Northstar is a second pharmacy that will be opening soon and owned by the family.

It must be challenging to tend to the business and your family at the same time. Thanks for all your help so far and we will look forward to working with you and growing Future Quest.

Deb,

As you well know, I am one of those who have been more than vocal regarding the inproprieties of some less ethical hosts. Really, I dont think I expect too much (being set up for example). I would like to express the two things that to me sets you and only one other hosting company (an NT host that I *think* we are both in support of http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif) apart from the others, kindness and honesty. Frankly, I dont care if you've been open since last week, you have a box I can be on. So do alot of others. But when I contacted you, I received a prompt courteous response. You have by far exceeded my expectations (and I'm a pretty tough guy,..hehe) in that arena and I greatly appreciate it. That makes THE difference.

Hi Deb,

I've only been with you guys a few days, and within that short time I already have the feeling of "This is the perfect webhost for me".

The reason for this is that you're more than a webhost to everyone, and just reading through these forum messages proves that. You've built such a wonderful community spirit between us all, and it's all through you getting involved in all the discussions you become part of this community. I can't express how much that helps.

Like I said, you are more than a webhost, you are our home on the 'net. You guys beat any of the big hosting companies out there, and the fact that you're a family owned company proves exactly what the power of the Internet can do, and how you've used this fantastic marketing tool to create an online community that everyone else can benefit from too.

Congratulations to you a million times over, and by helping others (which you have quite obviously done a thousand times over), you deserve everything that the Internet can bring in terms of profits and friendship.

Thanks very much! :-)

Lee.

OK, suppose I shouldn't be lazy. Here's my opinion.
Deb, Terra, your business is bound to grow and become the main and more respected one in the web hosting field. That's not a pat on your backs or a kind word: I wouldn't want that you become conceited http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif It's simply I've now such an idyllic view of web hosting that I couldn't bear to be abandoned in another company's hands. I think my site, my ideas and my cyber-social-life would be ruined.
So, you're obliged to be the bests. Just for me and everyone who feels like me. In return I promise to remain an understanding customer and remember computers sometimes have silly reactions. (Sounds really official, isn't it?)
My last word: I'm proud to be able to chat and joke with the owners. I don't want any stereotyped letters in my mailbox, I just want that someone pays attention to me. For what concerns attention to the customer, I think Billy Gates should come and take a few lessons here. There aren't big and small
companies, there are only good ones and bad ones, if you see what I mean...
That was my two cents. End of the speech http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

I have to agree with everyone here! My previous host left me “twisting in the wind” on more than one occasion.
Heck, I got far better support from FutureQuest before I had even signed up... http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
I've only been here a few weeks but I feel like an orphan who has been taken in from the cold. Feels good to finally feel at home!
