Just wonderin', what keeps you or distracts you guys from working?

Did you say you checked these twice a day? According to my visitors you are a slacker:

LOL!

Thought of some:
-CompUSA and BestBuy (I can spend hours in there)
-Alt.Fan.Geri-Halliwell (although I just lurk)
-Sleep
-Mixing Cappuccinno Coolers
-All those light( )bulbs that need screwing
-Those impossible to open ketchup packets

----
I totally agree with the Taco Bells and Mcdonalds. But I don't know what the heck you do in Wally World (Walmart) for so long, look at stuff?

Elite: But once you come to these forums you are stuck for at least half an hour and usually more for me. It is like peer pressure or something, you just don't want the lights to be off in here when you come back! :)

Actually, Walmart has these cheap 19" monitors for $369... I've been eyeballing them, sooooo tempted to pick up a pair (I run 2 monitors, so if I buy one I have to buy 2)... they only do 1600 x 1280 max, but still - for that price I don't care how cheesy they are - 19 inches!!!

So I kinda just stand there and drool and imagine a pair of them on my desk. Of course, it would be wrong to have monitors bigger than the speakers... uh oh... stereo isle... hehe ;)

Yes, I have a life... I think... ;)

Ah, Charles, the pure joys of California... I do miss Fry's. And California Pizza. And Claim Jumper. And... why am I doing this to myself! :(

Been to CA once - didn't like it. Paid $1.87 for 87 octane gas, complete with Ethanol in it (argh!) and their goofy pumps with like 18 stage vapor recovery and no locking mechanism... paid about $3 for a pack of smokes... left... never looked back :) (this was in May or June '97).

Of course now I'm in FL... smokes are a little cheaper (not much), and there's more bugs here than the rest of the WORLD combined (I am not joking). But at least there's no corn fields (that I can see anyway) like Indiana... :)

Oh, back to the topic at hand:
- The Forums
- Killing bugs (insects, not program "features" )
- sitting for 4 minutes, staring at the screen, trying to think of at least a third thing to put in the list of things that kill time...

ditto on the California pizza thing, though haven't lived there in like 25 years... though I can make an awesome Chicago style stuffed pizza from scratch.

uh, well, no Dreamcast but something close (but better!): Shaytar and I have been holed up in our tiny tv room with our Playstation and brand-new Final Fantasy 8 game since Wednesday . . . I'm only checking the boards here now because we just reached the end of disc one (of 4 discs!) so we thought it might be time to change out of pj's, check email, etc -- yes, it's after 7 pm here and we haven't done anything but play all day.

paid about $3 for a pack of smokes HA! yeh try find a $3 pack of smokes in MA - not happening! (I dont know how peopel who smoke have any money to live off of)

Man - if I ever saw gas at $1.87/gal I would choke and die right there - I drove thru NY on my way to canada and winced when I had to pay $1.21 (was $1.07 at home at the time - and at the end of spring[nbsp][nbsp]was only $.95)

I get lost in walmart[nbsp][nbsp]-it's so big and my brain is so small - I cant handle it :Þ

$0.95 ... I wish.

A quick calculation at todays exchange rate tells me my local garage is charging $6.08 per gallon so filling my car up from fumes to a full tank will cost me around $80 ..

Quit ya whinin' ;)

Dean.

DreamCast, ummmmm - errrrrrr...........

I just got banned from playing it being reminded that my task list is full for the next 10 years... :(

Something about wasted time and living in a cardboard box...

Oh well, kids will enjoy it... :)

DeanB, you have it pretty bad and I thought Finland's (I am not living there right now though) gas prices were worse but they ended up calculating to about $4-$5 per gallon! Of course, over there gas is bought by the liter at a little over a dollar.

PS: Oooo, got another one! What about the time spent getting that Publix brand box of 12 icecream sandwiches for $3.19?!?
