I've used CCNow.com as a good alternative if you don't have or want to get a merchant account.[nbsp][nbsp]No setup and a 9% fee per transaction.[nbsp][nbsp]Good luck with them so far.

I did use ibill.com with good results as well but they started requiring a merchant account for tangible goods.

If your client has a merchant account then there are many options available - if they are just testing the water then you can't beat CCNow.

James

Turnkey,

Just checked out CCNow's website, looks pretty decent. I was wondering if they're reliable with payouts and accurate? Any info you can provide would be appreciated.

I'm also with CCnow. Started in July, but I received the first check last week. Yes they're accurate and seem reliable. I couldn't be more happier with them. I'd like to thank Boksoft who recommended them in a March post in these forums.

Shameless Plug:

I would recommend for anyone to at least attempt to obtain their own merchant account before using "brokered" merchant accounts since this will maximize your profit and cash flow.

I own RS Marketing and I can help you obtain a merchant account and payment services to allow you to process credit card transactions from your Website. For more information, please visit http://www.rsmarketing.com.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about how e-commerce can be applied to your business or if you have any questions about our products and services.

Companies that provide you with a service of processing credit card transactions for you are what I termed "brokered" merchant accounts, above. Since they use their own merchant account to process your sales, they are, in essence a reseller of your products or services. Examples of these providers are Kagi, CCNow, iBill, etc.

With your own merchant account, established with an acquiring bank, you process the credit card transactions and the bank deposits the funds directly into your checking account.

The primary differences are in cost and the time it takes for you to receive funds. Although your actual rates may vary depending on your type of business, typical fees for your own merchant account are around 2.50% of each transaction plus about $0.30 per transaction. You receive the funds into your bank account within 2-3 days.

Is there any other companies (resellers) beside
Ccnow, Ibill, and kagi?
Has any one heard of ClickBank.com?
It sounds like a good deal!

Kickster,

Sorry, I should have realized from you URL that you were selling intangibles. Yes, there are some options that will get you up and running without merchant accounts.

Clickbank was mentioned earlier and they allow subscription content for 10% charge, plus .50 per transaction.

Ibill also has a "Resellers" account w/o Merchant but it charges 15% per transaction.

If you'd like I can send you a spreadsheet that has a bunch of options that I've compiled as I've started to get into this biz. Send me a mail from my website (posted below).

Like I said if you're just testing the e-commerce waters these are a great way to get started at low cost.

Cheers,
Turnkey
