Just wanted to say hi...just signed up and need to upload my site via ftp.[nbsp][nbsp]This is the first time I'm transferring my site and need a little help ;-).[nbsp][nbsp]Can you please tell me what info I need to put in these spots?
* Profile name
* Host name/address
* Host type
Is there anything else I need to adjust in order to access my account so I can make sure my site is up and running for when the actual transfer takes place?
Thanx much!!

Hi Joi, welcome to the forums ;)
For FTP, at the beginning you will need to use the temp info that was provided at the top of the activation letter...
Profile name -- is usually whatever you would like to title it for your own reference (MyParentTime or FQserver would be fine)
Hostname/address -- for now use xmyparentime.futurequest.net and once the domain name has propagated you will need to change it to ftp.myparentime.com
Host type -- Not sure what they asking for here.. do they give an example or options?[nbsp][nbsp]possibly unix will work.
From there just use your username and password to enter ... also note your web files go into the www directory to work :)

Thanx Deb![nbsp][nbsp]I managed to log into the WWW, but now am curious as to where the images go (aren't these supposed to be in a separate folder?[nbsp][nbsp]At least that's the way they are on my old host.)
Thanx again!
Best always,

Welcome to FQ, Joi!
You can put the images wherever you like.[nbsp][nbsp]But for ease, it's usually much easier to control if you put all the images in a folder called "images" under your www folder :)[nbsp][nbsp]Or you can just leave them in your www folder, but it just clutters things a bit.

Hi![nbsp][nbsp]OOps![nbsp][nbsp]I knew I would upload something to the wrong directory....lol
On this latest upload expedition, I forgot to upload into the www directory, so I tried moving them.[nbsp][nbsp]Now they're lost somewhere in my ftp directory ;-(...lost in cyberspace....little ol' me has lost her files....and doesn't know where to find them....can you say, "I need help!" ?
Getting giddy from an all-nighter ;-)..
TIA!

Another question.....;-)
Just wondering if the format of my HTML code is the same as on my previous host...
*for images[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp] "/images/name.gif"
*for HTML pages[nbsp][nbsp] "/" link to homepage
[nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp][nbsp]"/name.html" link to another webpage
Sorry to be a bother!
TIA,
Best always,

I don't use the / in front of name.html, (if the .html file is in the www directory), but I'm a slob.

Once the domain name is working in the browser you are safe to begin setting up the mail.[nbsp][nbsp]Until then you can also use http://QuestMail.FutureQuest.net to achieve the task since it already recognizes you on this server...
