View Full Version : New NavBar on forums
The new nav bar at the top of the forums is nice, and incredibly handy. Just have one suggestion for it though http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif The Forums link on the left points to Ultimate.cgi right now, but IMO it should point to Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=true I used to use the image link that was up there a lot while navigating the forums, and will now use the link that's in it's place. However, as it sits, that link tosses my cookies when I hit it, and I'm usually not ready to lose the lightbulbs on the forums I haven't yet read.

agreed.... would be better with this bypass option.
At the first sight, I did not recognize the change at the top (as I'm always using the wheel to scroll down a bit), but I just noted the changes at the bottom http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
Greetings from someone feeleing good today

The image link that used to be at the top was coded the same way... I had to get Deb to add that back in because I used that (a lot) to toss my cookies...
It's that way by design... http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

Actually I kept the best of both up there.... one to toss and one to keep... the link to the "CNC Community Forums" next to the folder images will hold your cookies.. the link all the way at the top that I put back in will toss them.
I know it's "tricky" at first but allows us to pick and choose which one we want at any given time http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

I toss my cookies with my own link - I always use the link at the bottom to get back without losing the bulbs, then use the back button from then on.
Which reminds me, did the lightbulbs get way brighter or is it the different background?

Justin I noticed the light bulbs too...thought I was staring at the screen too long again.
Oh wanted to point out that I noticed (the other day I think it was) that the graphics for add topic and reply were new but the closed thread one was still the old, now non-matching one. Have you changed that yet?
Man will take me a bit to get use to the nav bar. I am sure it's much quicker w/out graphic, but I really liked the graphic personally. But I shouldn't complain about adapting to forum changes since I just redid my UBB setup a tiny bit.

Hi,
one more question/suggestion.
Is it possible to add "ALT" text to the bulb images showing the state of the bulb before the graphics actually loads.
Sometimes it takes very long for my browser to fill in the bulbs.
