View Full Version : FutureQuest Announce: New Team Member!
We've got a gem for you this time around folks.[nbsp][nbsp]FutureQuest as a whole is proud to announce Bruce Guenter (http://em.ca/~bruceg/) as the newest member of the FutureQuest Team!
For those of you not already familiar with the _MANY_ pieces of code donated to the Internet at large, by Bruce, you need only take a quick peak at his directory listing here (http://em.ca/~bruceg/) or search for Bruce at[nbsp][nbsp] QMail.org (http://www.qmail.org/top.html) to see his wide range of contributions.[nbsp][nbsp]Google will do the trick as well :P
Bruce graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, with High Honors, in Computer Science, from the Faculty of Science at the University of Regina. Uhhh yes,[nbsp][nbsp]for those of you in the know, we've added a Canadian to the team :)
His focus is primarily networking software, especially email, DNS, and software security..[nbsp][nbsp]His skill set covers C/C++, Python, PHP, Perl, SQL, and many other acronyms.[nbsp][nbsp]FutureQuest has, from the beginning, used Bruce's creations, such as the vmailmgr, within our own email system.[nbsp][nbsp]Who better to work on enhancing the system than the creator himself?!
Bruce will be working closely with TeRRa, (ahhhh the poor thing *grin*) in overhauling the email systems in an effort to bring all of you the many items currently on the wish list.
Say HI to him before we lock him up in the coding closet!![nbsp][nbsp]You may also want to congratulate Bruce and his wife on their newest baby girl (the second lil one in their family) who entered the world this month on April 9th.
Welcome Bruce!
Deb & The Entire Team.
[nbsp]- Look South![nbsp][nbsp]Look North! Look Central![nbsp][nbsp]It's FutureQuest with their wings spread wide!
Welcome Aboard Bruce :)
We wish you the best of luck here at FutureQuest, as well as with your New Baby Girl and the rest of your Family.
Looking forward to some new Email enhancements as well as the attending problems ;)
Have a Good One
Bob

{clap, clap) Welcome, Bruce![nbsp][nbsp]You've found a great job with an even greater bunch of nice folks, and it looks like they've found a fine qmail guru.[nbsp][nbsp]Welcome to you AND your family.
[nbsp][nbsp]Frank
Welcome Bruce!
Congratulations on your new baby girl.
We are all extremely pleased to have you on the FutureQuest team. Your education, experience, and working knowledge speaks volumes.. and we're lucky to have you on our side!
Again, welcome..
Paul

Overall, I'm just glad that there is someone technically qualified enough to turn to me and ask:
"What were you thinking at the time?!?!?!?"
DoH!
When systems become much more complex in nature, it is always a welcome sigh of relief when a second set of eyes can look at current operations and find things possibly overlooked...[nbsp][nbsp]The whole 'Forest for the Trees' scenario...
FutureQuest's mail system has scaled nicely, up until this point due to the increased usage of mailing lists...[nbsp][nbsp]It is now time to revamp the core QMail system and learn from what has brought us this far...[nbsp][nbsp]We'll never be Hotmail, but I surely hope that we can service our site owners with capacity as such...

Thank you all for your kind words.[nbsp][nbsp]The new baby is doing fine, and even letting mother get some sleep at night occasionally.
jimbo, Kids In The Hall is just one of our many exports :-)[nbsp][nbsp]You might be surprised to know that a number of your stars come from Canada.
Paul, it's never truely done, is it?[nbsp][nbsp]That's why I'll never be out of work :)

Congrats Bruce on both exciting news fronts.
Awww.. does this mean someone has to finally let Terra out of his server closet? You know if he sees too much daylight he might freak out. ;)
It's all good provided no Red Green tactics are used on the servers...lol.

We'd still like to do that silly little thing called a Honeymoon...
We were hoping to get a chance to see Disney World, but I'm afraid the distance is far too much to get there - and be back in time for the next wave of support emails...[nbsp][nbsp];)

A great, huge, Welcome! to you, Bruce.
Beware of TeRRa, however... despite an undeserved reputation for insouciant treatment of unwary canteloupes, the rumors concerning LISP may be true.
(Just kidding, TeRRA.)
Kiss the baby for all of us.

Hi and welcome, Bruce!
Just curious Deb: who all makes up the Futurequest team today?[nbsp][nbsp]Aside from the ceremonious "graduation" of Justin I seem to have lost count on the comings (and goings?) of[nbsp][nbsp]the different individuals...
(In no particular order):[nbsp][nbsp]Bob, Paul, Lori, Sam, Dan, Bruce...[nbsp][nbsp]sorry if I missed someone
;-o
Harley
Actually it's changed a bit more than that over the past year....

He has to be schizophrenic -- how else can he do the work of seven people without multiple personalities... lol.
My favorite is when he shows up with the monkey and the basket of parakeets, though.
