Due to the overwhelming success of our new MySQL hardware platform, our first DAS::MySQL server is being upgraded...

Work will commence early Monday morning (6/5/00) at 1:00am and will entail a full server swapout...[nbsp][nbsp]Estimated downtime is <45 minutes...

Old Spec:
CPU: 450Mhz
MEM: 256Mb

New Spec:
CPU: 700Mhz
MEM: 384Mb

This, along with many other behind the scenes enhancements, is a direct response to the increased demands being placed on these engines...

In short: MYSQL02 users won't be taunting their new found power over the already established MYSQL01 users

due to spending most of my time developing locally i've fallen out of touch with the status of my MySQL server, namely MYSQL00

what is the status of 00 in relationship to 01 & 02 ?

stephen, the curious

I believe that having the double-0 number, mysql00 is the only server at FutureQuest that's licensed to kill. Hence, it's been busy doing work for Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Other than that, I can't help you. :)

All upgrade work on MYSQL01 is now completed...

Let us know if you encounter any weirdness...

Thanks...

Thanks for all your great work Terra and the rest of the FutureQuest family. I REALLY don't know what I would do if I had to use another host....

By the way I am still having a little problem with my MySQL backup shell scripts but I will email those directly another time.

Thanks again for the excellent service and friendly atmosphere!!

By the way after removing UBB my disk space dropped almost 100MB and the mysqldump is less than half that for VBulletin.

Terra,
All five of my cron jobs failed this morning with 'unable to connect ...' :(
They ran between 06:18 - 06:45

Dean.

i'd appreciate it if one of you guys could tell me what happened to my mysql database. this would be xrandommouse on mysql00 (see the above post from 3 weeks ago).

seems that either my db has vanished or i'm losing my marbles. if it has gone, how long has it been missing? was it placed on mysql01 or mysql02?

please inform.

if it's vanished no big deal. i was about to delete all the tables and rebuild them anew. but i will need a database to do it with and none of the known ones seem to recognize me.

Stephen, we had emailed you letting you know that MYSQL00 was being taken offline and all accounts were moving to the new backend MYSQL0[12] servers...

Previously, you were on MYSQL01, but it appears that a glitch in the transfer injected your already MD5 hashed password, through the MD5 hash again...[nbsp][nbsp]This essentially nuked the password, denying access... :([nbsp][nbsp]For that, my sincerest apologies...

We have gone ahead and upgraded your number of databases from 1 DB to 6 DB's, and are now active on the MYSQL02 server...

Be on the lookout for a brand new MySQL Activation letter with all of the pertinent information...

Thank you for bringing this to my attention...

Thanks Terra,

For some reason I don't think that notification actually turned up in my mail box. But no big deal. Looking forward to lauching my site with mysql02 as my trusty stead... :)
