We are just back from a 3200 mile trip to NY state and back (from here, our Colorado home.)[nbsp][nbsp]Got in late enough to say, "Guess we might as well watch the fireworks!" LOL . . . but this hangover is from 4 days in the car, laptop case on my toes the whole time, 2 kids, 2 antique canoes balanced on top (reason for the trip, we had to go retrieve them from storage) and one grumpy, preoccupied DH who screeched to a halt 2 hours west of Topeka yesterday morning to reveal that he left our brand new $1,000 Sony Mavica in the hotel room that morning . . . . ARRGGGHHH!!!!
Anyways, just a plug for the honest folks at Topeka Fairfield Inn, who found it, and had it airmailed to us immediately . . . that experience pays for the month's cel phone bill in spades, as far as I am concerned.[nbsp][nbsp]Husband will live to see another year, always a plus too.
The fireworks here were spectacular - some enterprising folks backpacked the supplies to the top of Pike's Peak, and set them off at midnight, illuminating the crown of the peak, blanketed in fresh snow.[nbsp][nbsp]It was truly stunning!
Thank you sooooooooooo much to FQ for all their own Y2K checks that made logging on and getting caught up with my site a breeze this morning!!

ARGHHHH I had to get up at 7AM to go to the Citrus Bowl Game .. Got about 2 hours of sleep :( I am just ow getting home.
But about 2 blocks from getting home I about got into a three car collision because of some stupid cop in a hurry. I was heading West, and another car east on a residential road, and see a cop that appears to be pulling over a truck. We then stoped in the road so they could pass as the truck was turning off the road but then the cop zippes inbetween both cars! He was going at least 55+ MPH with literally inchest between both cars, all because he couldnt wait for the truck to turn in another second.. Oh well I thought that was rather wrecklace and could have caused major damage/injury/death to innocent individuals.[nbsp][nbsp]I felt that was just not justified under any circumstances so I called the Police Dept. Just to inform them and to let them decide what to do if any..
Ok I will stop my rant, but I cant wait to sleep in tommorow!! Thanks again Deb, Terra, And Justin for taking us into the new year!
<EDIT>
Talked to his sergent, and he looked into it and found out he was on a call for officer needs assist. While this wasnt justified I see his hurry. Oh well he agreed that it was way out of line and all I wanted him to do is just talk to him about it
